My suspicion is the fight in public is to bring more attention to Sessions. Remember how POTUS used all the negative press against himself to bring him into the light. Then POTUS and Sessions will make up, Trump will see the light, or how wonderful Sessions is and Sessions will be boosted in the polls. OR, Trump has plans for Sessions elsewhere. It's a movie, a movie always has to have some confusion to add to the suspense.
