Christ is the end of the law - the law referred to here was the law of the Old Testament times, prior to Jesus Christ's ascension and the day of Pentecost.
Christ is the end of the law for righteousness.
Righteousness - Right living according to God's definition of right (perfect). Not just opposite of wrong, but always perfect. For where there's righteousness you have no need of law. Especially God's perfect righteousness. In practical application it would mean being "right" in God's eyes. That is not achievable for any man without the Holy Spirit. We don't become righteous due to our perfect record and lack of a single evel thought - if that were the case, we'd never attain it. We get it as part of the Holy Spirit package - eternal life, peace, joy, righteousness, sanctification, justification, etc.
We simply get it by believing and being born again into the family of God - it's by grace, not by works!
