Trump Weighs Creation of Panel to Counter 'Anti-Conservative Bias' on Social Media - Report
In a series of Twitter posts earlier, US President Donald Trump slammed social media giants including such as Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and Google for being "in total command and control of the Radical Left".
US President Donald Trump is considering the formation of a panel that would review complaints of bias against conservatives on social media, according to a report by the Wall Street Journal, citing unnamed official sources said to be familiar with the plan.
Although no final decision has been made, there remains a chance that Trump could decree a White House commission to oversee allegations of online bias and censorship, a panel that could encourage federal regulatory agencies to participate. The move would likely result in criticism from technology companies, the report noted.
"Left-wing bias in the tech world is a concern that definitely needs to be addressed from our vantage point, and at least exposed [so] that Americans have clear eyes about what we’re dealing with", an unnamed White House official claimed, according to WSJ.
Commenting on the idea of a new commission, a Twitter spokesperson said to media outlet The Verge that the social media company enforces "the Twitter Rules impartially for all users, regardless of their background or political affiliation", and stressed regular communication with elected officials to improve the platform.
The report follows a Trump tweet from last week in which the president claimed that social media companies are controlled by what he characterized as the Radical Left, citing a tweet by Right Wing pundit Michelle Malkin from her 'America First' clip suggesting that tech companies censor Americans, that was later removed from the tweet.

So today put a smile on my face, as most of your know we install docks, store boats etc. This morning I was out working when the office called me, there was a gentleman on hold who wanted his boat in the water before the weekend. Being memorial weekend and the fact that we started working 3 weeks late means there is no chance this is going to happen.
Well, our office personnel had explained this to the man and he replied: “I am the husband to the governor, will this make a difference?”
The employee (his name has been blacked out to protect his privacy) continued:
As you can imagine, that does make a difference, that would put you at the back of the line!!! Needless to say, our Governor and her husband will not be getting their boat for memorial day.

Twitter’s hiring of China-linked AI expert sparks concern
Commentators have been raising concerns over Twitter’s recent hiring of artificial intelligence (AI) star Fei-Fei Li, who has links to the Chinese Communist Party.
Twitter appointed Stanford professor and former Google vice president Li to its board as an independent director earlier this month, citing her AI expertise.
Li’s appointment came after she left her role as chief scientist of AI/ML (artificial intelligence/machine learning) at Google Cloud in October 2018 following a controversy surrounding Google’s Project Maven initiative, which helped the Pentagon identify drone targets from blurry video footage.
The project prompted an employee revolt at Google, with some 4,000 signing a petition against Project Maven, and some quitting in protest.

Coast Guard crews offloaded more than one ton of cocaine worth an estimated $37 million on Wednesday in San Diego, authorities said.
The crew of the Coast Guard cutter Active seized the drugs earlier this month from “known drug-transit zones” in the Pacific Ocean off the coasts of North and Central America, according to Coast Guard officials.
Active, a 210-foot cutter based out of Washington state, operates from the U.S.-Canadian border down to the waters off Central America, according to the Coast Guard.

Gov. ‘Blackface’ Northam Locks Down State Until June – Then Spotted at Virginia Beach Without Mask, No Social Distancing and Crowd of 20
In March Virginia Gov. Ralph Northam issued stay-at-home orders for state residents, which prohibited anyone from leaving home except for trips deemed “essential,” such as getting food or seeking medical assistance.
The order also banned gatherings of more than 10 people.
The order “shall remain in full force and in effect until June 10, 2020, unless amended or rescinded by further executive order,” said the order’s text.
“We are at the beginning of a period of sacrifice. This s a difficult and unprecedented time… I have faith in you as Virginians,” the Democrat said. “We need to take this seriously and act responsibly. We will get through this together.”
The order went into effect immediately All public beaches were closed “for all activity, except exercising and fishing. Social distancing requirements must be followed.”
On Friday Governor Northam opened Virginia Beach for the weekend with the following order, “If people swarm these beaches and ignore social distancing rules or the regulations the city has put into place, I will not hesitate to reinstate Phase 1 restrictions or even close the beach outright if necessary.”
On Saturday Governor Ralph Northam was seen out at Virginia Beach.
The governor was walking around without a mask in a crowd.
He was not concerned about social distancing.
