So Scarborough's dad worked for Lockheed-Georgia. I note that he wasn't in the Skunk Works section.
Means that despite his military background, he either hadn't (couldn't) get a high enough clearance, back in the days when that really meant a lot.
If he was born in '34, that places him square in the age group with Kelly Johnson, Ben Rich, et al.
I see that the company bounced him over to Mississippi, which was several big jumps down the food chain from Marietta and Palmdale.
The other question is why did he leave Lockheed to go to some company called "National Homes", transfer to New York, then quickly to another job at American LaFrance (this company makes fire engines and ambulances). And then Pensacola? To found beauty pageants with his wife?
Doesn't sound like he was very well liked anywhere he went.
