Quite true. However, there are other motivations for wearing ineffective masks. One is to raise awareness of the silliness of requiring people to wear ineffective masks. Another is to celebrate this new fashion, which helps defeat at least the lower-tech facial recognition systems which have proliferated and subjected us to unwanted surveillance. A third is to display philosophical and/or political thoughts on fashionable attire. There are more motivations to be sure, but consider at least these three as food for thought. "Expand your thinking."

Do you have an iPhone? Have you tested the OS 13.5 recognition yet? I don't believe the hype, like so much else that's been hyped. With the entire lower face covered, including the cheekbones, mouth and jawline, and especially if you're also wearing goggles, how can software "identify" you? Naturally, the people in the room will be able to know who you are, but the software referencing the obscene databases available through AI won't have a clue (my hypothesis).
