Yes, I believe so, too. I worked at a new intermodal trucking company in the mid-90's. Intermodal freight went into overdrive from that point on. VERY busy industry. There wasn't even a software program written yet for the intermodal freight industry. Tracking freight containers going from port to truck to rail to truck to warehouse and then back the same route to the port without software was a trip itself.
For those that don't know, intermodal freight is container freight shipped from overseas into USA ports. From ports the containers are shipped across and around the country via rail and truck to their final destination warehouses, etc.
