Maybe its worth looking at the statistics behind our crime fighting-tip hotlines? I've heard that citizen tips are often what help solve cases; but then, given my exp, how many very useful tips never make it past the hotline? maybe operators being wired differently than investigators(?) cause a lot of problems: potentially useful intel slippin thru the cracks? are there ways to improve efficiency? would a certain type of software/Ai that cld order/store intel from hotlines be able to help operators/detectives, grouping by location/keywords/subjects/potential relevance, etc for easy viewing?; ie, 'if someone reports hearing a possible 187' in area y, then missing persons intel w matching traits in general region y should also pop up- with more blinking flash/whatever per more relevance to ongoing intel elsewhere;– maybe an operator is predisposed to assume shes talking to a kook who's just hearing things, but importantly, the quality of the witness is NOT inherently the quality/value of the intel- the operators also acted like sound/audio rec were not in any way actionable intel. Is this true anons? Which, if so, and if such idiocy-pardonez moi- were to become the standard of investigations, or lack thereof, certainly this would render a great percentage of private/hidden violence/crime/etc unknowable?; and even evidence that was so distinct as to be traumatizing for the witness deemed, insufficient? This is the thinking of very small minds indeed; not minds that work to solves problems, especially those of the complexity often involved in criminal schemes.
