Clinton-Appointed Judge Lets Florida Felons Vote, Could Add 'Hundreds Of Thousands' To November Rolls

A federal judge in Florida on Sunday declared key portions of the state's felon voting law unconstitutional in a ruling that could allow hundreds of thousands of new voters being added to the rolls just in time for the 2020 presidential election.

In a 125-page ruling, US District Judge Robert Hinkle, a Clinton appointee, slammed the state's "pay-to-vote" system which the GOP-controlled Florida Legislature passed nearly a year ago, which ended the state's lifetime ban on voting for most ex-felons, but requires that they repay legal financial obligations first, according to Politico.

"This pay-to-vote system would be universally decried as unconstitutional but for one thing: each citizen at issue was convicted, at some point in the past, of a felony offense," wrote Hinkle. "A state may disenfranchise felons and impose conditions on their reenfranchisement. But the conditions must pass constitutional scrutiny."

"Whatever might be said of a rationally constructed system, this one falls short in substantial respects," he added.

Hinkle’s ruling could lead to a major addition to the state’s voting rolls just months before the election in the battleground state. President Donald Trump, who narrowly won the state four years ago, has made winning Florida a key part of his reelection strategy.

One study done by Daniel Smith, a University of Florida political professor, found that nearly 775,000 people with felony convictions have some sort of outstanding legal financial obligation. -Politico

Hinkle claims that requiring people with felony convictions to pay legal fees - which are separate from restitution or fines ordered by the court - before being allowed to vote violated the US Constitution's ban on poll taxes.

Trump Says He Has A Chance ‘To Break The Deep State,’ Teases New Revelations From Declassification

President Donald Trump on Sunday hailed recent disclosures of information regarding government surveillance of the Trump campaign, saying that it has afforded him a chance to “break” the so-called “deep state.”

In an interview with journalist Sharyl Attkisson, Trump suggested that additional information is going to come out about the surveillance efforts.

“Other things are going to come out, too. And a lot of other things are going to come out, but you don’t even need other things,” he said.

“I would like to see it move much faster,” Trump added.

Trump went on to accuse the “deep state” of trying to derail his presidency through the investigation into possible collusion between the Trump campaign and Russian government.

“If it keeps going the way it’s going, I have a chance to break the deep state,” Trump said.

“It’s a vicious group of people. It’s very bad for our country. And that’s never happened before.”

Trump called former FBI Director James Comey a “dirty cop,” and former FBI Deputy Director Andrew McCabe a “bad guy.”

Trump praised Richard Grenell, the acting director of national intelligence, for declassifying and releasing a slew of documents related to investigations of the Trump campaign.

“Richard Grenell is a superstar. He had guts, he had courage to do what he did,” Trump said.

Newsom Issues New Authoritarian Guidelines For Reopening Churches: Limit Capacity to 25% or 100 People, Eliminate Singing

California Governor Gavin Newsom (D) issued new authoritarian guidelines for reopening churches.

President Trump declared all houses of worship “essential” on Friday during the White House press briefing.

States were to open their churches and synagogues THIS WEEKEND!

Democrat Governor Newsom initially pushed back against Trump, then buckled after enormous pressure and decided to reopen churches…with new authoritarian guidelines.

Newsom believes he has the authority to tell Christians they cannot sing in church.

Newsom is also trying to limit the capacity in places of worship to 25% or 100 people maximum.

It is important to note that Newsom did not roll out the same guidelines for restaurants.
