Bill Clinton spent time on Jeffrey Epstein’s ‘orgy island,’ Netflix doc says

A new witness claims Bill Clinton spent time with pedophile pal Jeffrey Epstein at the financier’s notorious orgy island — challenging the former president’s denials that he ever went there, according to a report. Clinton, 73, has admitted taking trips on the late pedophile’s so-called “Lolita Express” private jet but insisted last year that he never visited his well-connected friend’s private Caribbean island, Little St. James. But a new Netflix docu-series streaming from Wednesday includes an interview with the island’s longtime IT guy who says he saw the former president relaxing there with Epstein, according to the Sun.

Steve Scully, now 70, tells the series, “Jeffrey Epstein: Filthy Rich,” that he spotted the pair in the porch area of the villa on the island, long said to be where Epstein held orgies with his young victims. Scully says he saw other “important people” coming and going from the island but that no one else was there during Clinton’s visit, according to the report. There is no suggestion Clinton engaged in inappropriate behavior.

Virginia Roberts Giuffre has also previously claimed to have seen Clinton on the island, which is where she says she was forced into an orgy with Epstein, Prince Andrew and nine young girls. She said she never saw any impropriety from Clinton, who maintains he never went to the island. “This was a lie the first time it was told, and it isn’t true today, no matter how many times it’s repeated,” Clinton’s spokesman, Angel Urena, told The Post Tuesday. Clinton had insisted last July — after Epstein was busted in New York — that he knew “nothing about the terrible crimes” being committed. He admitted taking four trips on the moneyman’s private jet, but said in a statement that “he has never been to Little St. James Island, Epstein’s ranch in New Mexico, or his residence in Florida.”

Scully, meanwhile, now regrets his time working with Epstein, conceding that in hindsight, the multimillionaire’s perversions were obvious. “You tell yourself that you didn’t know for sure and you never really saw anything, but that’s all just rationalization,” he told the Netflix show, according to the Sun. “Jeffrey Epstein, he was a guy who concealed his deviance very well — but he didn’t conceal it that well.” Epstein died last August after being found hanged in his Manhattan lockup. Andrew has always denied the “abhorrent” claims against him, claiming he had no idea about his friend’s sick secret life. Buckingham Palace has said that “any suggestion of impropriety with underage minors is categorically untrue.”

In parting shot, Richard Grenell blasts top Senate Intel Democrat for 'cherry-picking' on Flynn transparency

In one of his final moves as acting spy chief, Richard Grenell said the Senate Intelligence Committee’s top Democrat was “cherry-picking” the intelligence he wanted to be made public. Grenell, who was replaced by John Ratcliffe as director of national intelligence, defended his work against claims that he was the one selectively declassifying material to benefit President Trump and his allies politically.

“My declassification determination was made in the interests of full transparency and public accountability given serious unanswered questions about the potential misuse of intelligence for partisan purposes following the 2016 election,” Grenell wrote in a one-page letter to Sen. Mark Warner, the ranking member of the intelligence panel. “The protection of intelligence sources and methods is always at the fore of any declassification decision which I might make. As you well know, the decision to declassify the names of individuals who sought to unmask the identity of General Flynn poses absolutely no risk of compromises of either sources or methods.” This was a reference to the declassified National Security Agency document containing a list of dozens of Obama administration officials, including former Vice President Joe Biden, who were authorized recipients of information in response to "unmasking" requests that revealed former Trump national security adviser Michael Flynn's identity in surveillance intercepts. Flynn’s name was reportedly not masked in the FBI reports on his conversations with Russian Ambassador to the U.S. Sergey Kislyak during the presidential transition period. Grenell also wrote, “Far from undermining the credibility of the Intelligence Community, the utmost transparency in this matter builds public trust and confidence in the [Intelligence] Community and ensures the IC will not conceal potential abuse behind unnecessary security classification.”

Warner, a Virginia Democrat, sent a two-page letter to Grenell last week asking him to release a host of documents related to Flynn and the unmasking controversy. He asked Grenell to “provide the rationale for declassifying these unmasking reports, given the potential compromise to sources and methods” and said that “selective declassification for political purposes undermines the integrity of our system for protecting classified information." “I further request that you declassify and make publicly available any intelligence report concerning conversations between Lt. Gen. Flynn (ret.) and Russian Ambassador to the United States, Sergey Kislyak,” Warner wrote. “These calls have been the topic of multiple investigations, trials, and plea agreements concerning General Flynn and merit being in the public domain … [and] I ask that you provide the committee with the underlying intelligence reports in which the identity of the identical was ‘unmasked’ to be Flynn.”

Grenell said this request by Warner seemed contradictory. “I find it puzzling that your letter initially complains about the declassification of the identities of unmaskers, a declassification that posed no conceivable risks to sources or methods, only to then request the declassification of actual intelligence reports,” Grenell wrote. “Cherry-picking certain documents for release, while attacking the release of others that don’t fit your political narrative, is part of the problem the American people have with Washington D.C. politicians. I would appreciate it if you would explain your philosophy on transparency as it appears to be based solely on political advantage.” Grenell added that he “gladly would have discussed this and other intelligence matters with you directly” but said Warner canceled their phone call and ignored efforts by the Office of the Director of National Intelligence to reschedule.

Wikipedia Co-Founder: Site’s Neutrality Is ‘Dead’ Thanks to Leftist Bias

Larry Sanger, the co-founder of Wikipedia, published a blog post this month declaring that the online encyclopedia’s “neutral point of view” policy is “dead” due to the rampant left-wing bias of the site. Noting the article on President Donald Trump, Sanger contrasted its extensive coverage of presidential scandals with the largely scandal-free article on former President Barack Obama. Sanger also criticized Wikipedia’s coverage of religion and other controversial topics. After Fox News reported on his blog post, many Wikipedians ignored the bias Sanger identified and instead responded by attacking the conservative outlet as well as Sanger. On May 14, Sanger published a blog piece titled “Wikipedia Is Badly Biased” and started by declaring Wikipedia’s “Neutral Point of View” policy dead. Having founded the online encyclopedia with Jimmy Wales and having been involved in the original drafting of the policy, Sanger offered particular insight into its development and its practice in recent years. On the current policy’s rejection of providing “equal validity” to different views, Sanger stated this went directly against the original policy’s intent and that “as journalists turn to opinion and activism, Wikipedia now touts controversial points of view on politics, religion, and science.”

Providing examples, Sanger noted former President Obama’s article excludes most notable scandals during his Administration, such as the bungled ATF Fast and Furious operation that armed Mexican cartels who killed a U.S. border agent or the targeting of Tea Party groups by the IRS. By contrast, Sanger pointed to Trump’s article containing overwhelmingly negative sections on the President regarding his “public profile” as well as investigations and impeachment. The sections critical of Trump and his presidency are nearly as long as those dealing with his presidency overall. He further criticized Wikipedia repeatedly saying Trump makes false statements rather than attributing such characterizations to sources. Wikipedia’s coverage of other contentious political topics such as abortion were also criticized with Sanger singling out Wikipedia claiming abortion is “one of the safest procedures in medicine.” He pointed out how articles on legalization of drugs and gay adoption were focused on positives with little to no mention of criticisms. In the latter case, Sanger noted the section on “debate” about gay adoption only included arguments in favor rather than any against it. Sanger also criticized Wikipedia’s coverage of religion describing the article on Jesus as “a ‘liberal’ academic discussion” focused “on assorted difficulties and controversies” without explaining “traditional or orthodox views of those issues.”

Further criticism was directed at Wikipedia’s handling of scientific issues, where Sanger acknowledged some would consider a “bias towards science” to be desirable. However, he noted that it is not always clear what constitutes a legitimate scientific view and Wikipeda tends to “take for granted” and “aggressively assert” the views of the scientific establishment despite scientific minorities rejecting or criticizing these views such as on global warming. In the end, Sanger called on Wikipedia’s community to concede that they have abandoned neutrality, while stating this was unlikely as Wikipedia editors “live in a fantasy world of their own making.”

Former CBS News President Believes ‘Liberal Leaning Media Has Passed Its Tipping Point’

A former CBS News president believes that “the ‘liberal leaning’ media has passed its tipping point” and that the gap in ideological differences will continue to expand, according to an op-ed published Monday in the Wall Street Journal. Van Gordon Sauter, who worked as a CBS News president in the 1980s, explained in his op-ed how “news organizations that claim to be neutral have long been creeping leftward.” Sauter also wrote that this leftward shift has been increased by journalists’ “loathing of Mr. Trump,” adding that “a return to balance would be commercially unviable.” “To many journalists, objectivity, balance and fairness — once the gold standard of reporting — are not mandatory in a divided political era and in a country they believe to be severely flawed,” Sauter wrote. “That assumption folds neatly into their assessment of the president.”

Sauter noted that more problems could arise if Trump gets reelected in 2020 because of the media’s increasingly leftward lean. The former news chief added that journalists “will likely find Mr. Trump more dangerous and offensive in a second term than in the first.” “More important, how will a large segment of the public ever put stock in journalism it considers hostile to the country’s best interests?” Sauter wondered. “Unfortunately, dominant media organizations have bonded with another large segment of the public — one that embraces its new approach. Pulling back from anti-Trump activism could prove commercially harmful.” The op-ed also discussed the possibility of former Vice President Joe Biden winning the 2020 election. Sauter questioned whether Biden would face the same scrutiny that Trump has, or if he would “get a pass because he is a liberal and ‘not Trump.'”

Sauter brought up former Senate staffer Tara Reade’s allegation of sexual assault against Biden and the “media’s protective coverage” of it. Biden was not asked a single question about the allegation for over a month, according to the Washington Free Beacon. MSNBC’s Mika Brzezinski was the first to press Biden on the accusation in a May 1 interview on “Morning Joe.” “The media’s protective coverage of the sexual-assault allegation against Mr. Biden is perhaps a clear and concerning preview to how his presidency would be covered,” Sauter pointed out. “The media seems uninterested in these issues of bias.”

Sauter continued on to detail how this “gap will expand” because “the media likes what it is doing.” He wrote that “ultimately, the media finds the ‘deplorables’ deplorable” and wished that journalists would begin admitting their bias. This might allow publications to “feel freer to focus on the specifics,” he added. “Journalism affects social cohesion,” Sauter wrote. “Convinced of its role and its legitimacy, however, the media doesn’t seem to much care. And the other side can certainly enjoy throwing rotten tomatoes at distant targets. But America won’t reunite until far more people can look at a news story in print or on the screen and, of all things, believe it.”

'Not an original Trump thought': White House defends president pushing Joe Scarborough conspiracy theory

White House press secretary Kayleigh McEnany defended President Trump for repeatedly pushing a conspiracy theory that MSNBC host Joe Scarborough was responsible for the death of one of his former staffers. During a Tuesday press conference, McEnany was asked about Trump's recent questioning of whether Scarborough was involved in the death of Lori Klausutis, 28, who died in 2001 in Scarborough's Florida congressional office despite the medical examiner concluding her death was accidental. "I would note that the president said this morning that this is not an original Trump thought, and it is not. In fact, 2003 on Don Imus's show, it was Don Imus and Joe Scarborough that joked about killing an intern, joked and laughed about it. So that was, I'm sure, pretty hurtful to Lori’s family. And Joe Scarborough himself brought this up with Don Imus, and Joe Scarborough himself can answer it," she explained, turning the conversation around on Scarborough by referencing his appearance on Imus's radio show on May 29, 2003.

Klausutis's widower wrote a letter to Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey urging him to take down the tweets from the president alleging she was murdered, to which a Twitter spokesperson apologized. Despite the apology, the platform left the tweets up, explaining that it is "working to expand existing product features and policies so we can more effectively address things like this going forward, and we hope to have those changes in place shortly." McEnany added that she was unsure whether the president had seen Klausutis's letter to Dorsey but said, "Our hearts are with Lori's family at this time."

"Joe Scarborough, if we want to start talking about false accusations, we have quite a few we can go through," she added after facing pushback from a reporter. "I’m replying to you and saying this morning, as recently — I believe it was this morning or yesterday, Mika accused the president of being responsible for 100,000 deaths in this country. That’s incredibly irresponsible. They've dragged his family through the mud. They've made false accusations that I won't go through, that I would not say from this podium against the president of the United States. And they should be held to account for their falsehoods. Joe Scarborough should be held to account for saying people will die by taking hydroxychloroquine." Prior to McEnany's comments, the White House had not responded to requests for comment from the Washington Examiner regarding the matter.

Theories have circulated that Scarborough had an affair with Klausutis and was involved in her death during some sort of lover's spat. In response to those theories, he wrote a letter to Variety Fair in 2005, explaining that he had only met Klausutis three times and was never alone with her. According to the police report following her death, which was obtained by the Washington Examiner, Klausutis lost consciousness from "a probable cardiac arrhythmia secondary to valvular heart disease" and collapsed. As she fell, the 28-year-old hit her head on a desk and later died as a "result of an acute subdural hematoma," which occurred from the head trauma. There were no indications of foul play.
