The daily death count are provisional deaths, that include not sooner reported or new assumed cases from 2 months back
Around half of the new daily deaths reported by MSM are from adjusting old data, and reporting that as new cases on a new day.
That includes the database adjustment because of assumptions.
After many months the database is 100% complete, and the assumptions taken out. That usually results in a downward adjustment, just like with the flu that went from 80k deaths to 60 k deaths when all data was complete
