From I understand the theory is that planes were from earlier footage of planes going behind the Towers. So when layered it created the illusion of a crash on TV, because they superimposed it on top of new footage of what actually happened, which was a rigged mini-nuke set off inside the towers. The rest of the building was rigged, as was Building 7, and the collapse was real.
