Germany, the German people, need an American ambassador they could like and they wanted to trust.

Grenell was disliked by many for a reason.

If someone like Grenell would have been ambassador to the US, he would've been kicked out.

The new ambassador should be disliked by Merkel and the EU but LOVED by the German people.

No American, wether right or left leaning, would ever accept how Grenell's demeanor. He was behaving like a Roman proconsul.

Grenell achieved that even Germans, who are outright critics of Merkel, were appalled by Grenell's behaviour and felt as Germans that this arrogant, condescending and not likeable guy had to go.

German's felt like Grenell put them under the boot of the US.

You can behave this way, but you shouldn't be surprised, when a whole country wants you gone.

Trump wasted a lot of time with Grenell in Germany.

Another ambassador might have fought Merkel and would have been able to win the hearts of many German citizens at the same time.

People "under" Grenell felt like Trump-America was just as disgusting and reprehensible as the MSM portrayed it.

Let that sink in and maybe the US could learn a bit on how to win the hearts of the people in other countries.

This is not about Merkel, this is about a disaster:

Many Germans hate Merkel and the EU, these citizens are natural allies of the Trump gov.

But what did Trump do?

He sent Grenell and didn't care a bit, how disastrous Grenell behaved and what this would do to the minds of so many German citizens.
