From Russia with hate: 8chan is back online

8chan, the site responsible for hosting announcements and live videos of mass shootings in El Paso, Texas; Poway, California; and New Zealand is back online with its name changed to 8kun.

It was originally taken down after cybersecurity company Cloudflare and the Toronto-based domain registry platform Tucows refused to provide services to 8chan for “lawlessness” and inciting violent extremism.

Vice News reports that the resurrected 8kun is now being hosted by a Russian site associated with “hosting ransomware and stolen credit cards,” while the New York Times reports that the new web address is registered with Tucows.

According to several reports, notorious conspiracy theorist QAnon is already posting.

Steve Bannon wins case to set up political academy in Italy

The ministry said it would appeal the regional court’s decision.

The court ruled for the Dignitatis Humanae Institute, which Bannon backs, against a previous decision that blocked the school starting up in an 800-year-old monastery south of Rome.

“We stood by the monastery, the community and Italy during this pandemic when it would have been easy to walk way,” Bannon said on Wednesday in a statement issued through the institute’s founder, Benjamin Harnwell, in response to Tuesday’s ruling.

US ends ALL BUT ONE sanctions waivers for Iran nuclear facilities

The US is giving foreign governments 60 days to wrap up work on Iranian nuclear facilities – 90 days for the civilian reactor in Bushehr – or face Washington’s sanctions, Secretary of State Mike Pompeo has announced.

Washington has offered waivers for its sanctions against Tehran in connection with several civilian facilities since President Donald Trump unilaterally exited a nuclear deal with Iran in 2018. Now those waivers are being phased out entirely, Pompeo said on Wednesday.

European, Chinese and Russian companies working on nuclear projects in Iran will have two months to wrap up their operations or face US sanctions. The only exception is Unit 1 of the Bushehr nuclear power plant, where the waiver will be extended for 90 days “to ensure safety,” the State Department said.

The 2015 Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) pact had been negotiated by the Obama administration and envisioned a 10-year moratorium on most nuclear research in Iran. It was intended to prevent Tehran from developing an atomic bomb – something Israel had claimed was imminent at the time. Trump campaigned on denouncing the deal as “terrible” and pledging he would scrap it.

Since he did so, in May 2018, Washington has systematically reimposed all the previous sanctions levied against Tehran’s nuclear program and expanded the blockade to practically outlaw all commerce with Iran.

Britain, France, Germany, China and Russia – who also signed the JCPOA – did not abandon the treaty, but the reluctance of the three European countries to buck their US ally practically rendered the treaty moot.

A National Pulse investigation has revealed the book – authored by the head of the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) in Wuhan, China, the epicenter of the novel coronavirus – was published on March 10th at the height of the pandemic and brazenly admits in its own preface:

“The editorial board sincerely apologizes for the absence of citation trails or references due to the time constraint.”

The book, entitled The Coronavirus Prevention Handbook 101 Science-Based Tips That Could Save Your Life is for sale on Amazon, in Target stores, and even comes recommended by Rolling Stone magazine alongside a disclaimer: “we may earn a commission from purchases made from our links”.

The House of Representatives is poised to hold their first “proxy vote” since the founding of the institution back in 1789, with Republican lawmakers suing to stop the “unconstitutional” maneuver.

“The unprecedented vote is expected to occur later Wednesday in the midst of the coronavirus pandemic after House Democrats passed May 15 a temporary resolution to allow absent members to still cast votes in an effort to stop the spread of the virus and protect public health,” reports Fox News.
