I pick choice #5. Rosenstein will make a brilliant defense of last resort. No one can say this guy isn't smart and resilient. And, he's had plenty of time to craft his defense. The question I have is who he will try to blame. Is there anyone on that Senate committee who can manage him?

One thing I have learned is that lawyers think they know what it's like to be deposed - until it happens. Then they make big mistakes, and they surprise themselves that they reveal things that they didn't intend to do.

However, Rosenstein has experience testifying before Senate committees. He knows how to play them to benefit himself. I'm not looking forward to a nice big win in his testimony unless the committee is very strong - which is out of character, isn't it.
