That's an interesting angle I hadn't considered.
It's plausible the police are taking orders from the mayor, who openly opposes POTUS, to arrest the reporter. CNN would welcome something like that because it reinforces MUH POLICE STATE and would associate it with POTUS and not the mayor.

I think the perception would still be that it's Trump's fault.
Look at how Covid 19 has been handled in NY. Cuomo looks like a hero while the high number of deaths is Trump's fault, if you watch the MSM.
