I went to school for mechanical engineering technology. Have 1.5 yrs in it, graduated with a MET diploma. Can't get a job doing it because I'm hard of hearing and I'm not willing to go work for $10 an hour to "prove" myself just to get $13-15 an hour when I'm making $17 an hour as a handyman with lots of benefits.
Eventually I'll buy my own CNC machine and start making my own shit.
It was all politics.
And the fact that the military wasn't allowed to set up their own supply chains and manufacturing facilities.
Look at today… we've been talking on this board about building chips in home garages. Vinyl cutters are now mainstream. CNC and 3D printers are practically everywhere now.
This shit RIGHT NOW seems very illogical. But, we have to remember that this all goes back 20-30 years.
Back then the tech to build chips just wasn't common. A few companies dominated the market. It was practically unheard of to DIY your own chips.
Today… it seems logical and rational, back then, not so much.
Q doesn't need to confirm or tell us… that will wreck the plan. However he can say "Happening" and we'd get the hint.
