Also, the thing is, it may just be that many of the bad ones got comped one way or another, that is a pretty typical tactic, a standard really. Compromise and exploit.

Oh, yeah. With ya on that one. If you look at what some traitors in the past were paid for their treason, it really pisses you off. Back in the cold war days some betrayed the country for a mere few thousand dollars.
