Monkeys attack lab technician, STEAL Covid-19 blood samples in India
A gang of monkeys assaulted an employee of a medical college in northern India and snatched blood samples of coronavirus-positive patients from him, causing panic among locals.
The brazen attack took place in broad daylight on the campus of the state-run medical college in the town of Meerut in the state of Uttar Pradesh earlier this week.
The laboratory technician was transporting the tests from four patients undergoing treatment for Covid-19. All of a sudden, “monkeys grabbed and fled with the blood samples,” Dr. S. K. Garg, a top official at the college, told Reuters.
The authorities said it wasn’t clear if the thieves were able to open the samples and spill their contents, but the resourcefulness of these animals is well-known. A video which swiftly went viral on social media shows one of the monkeys sitting on a tree and chewing on the sample collection kits.

The news caused alarm among people in Meerut, who feared that the monkeys could take the hazardous samples to residential areas and spread the virus, which has already infected more than 167,000 and killed over 4,700 in India.
The destruction of their natural habitat has forced many monkeys to search for food in India’s residential areas in recent years. And with people staying indoors due to the Covid-19 lockdown, the monkeys apparently decided that they are now in charge.
“No evidence has been found that monkeys can contract the infection,” Dr. Garg said. However, there have been a number of cases of other animal species, especially house pets, getting Covid-19 from humans.

Cocaine Seizures Expose Flaws at Guatemala, Honduras Ports
The discovery of large amounts of cocaine in cargo shipped from Honduran and Guatemalan ports has revealed the difficulties in securing maritime shipping operations on the northern stretch of Central America’s Caribbean coast.
Customs officials at the port of Le Havre in northern France found 1.4 tons of cocaine hidden inside a shipping container transporting coffee, according to a statement released by French authorities on May 19.

What Lockdown? World’s Cocaine Traffickers Sniff at Movement Restrictions
As a wave of coronavirus infections hit Italy in late March, Rocco Molè, a member of the country’s ’Ndrangheta organized crime group, was faced with a dilemma.

But it also highlights their flexible approach to their trade, which has kept business booming even as many of the world’s legal sectors have ground to a halt.

“South Carolina election ballots reportedly ended up in Maryland this week, after mail-in voting for the Palmetto State’s June 9 primary has already begun, according to local news reports. About 20 Charleston County absentee ballots were found outside the state, the reports say.”
That’s 20 that were discovered. How many more are out there? Could that be just an accident? A mix-up in the mail or delivery service? I don’t see that being possible. I wouldn’t think that the ballots are delivered in lots of 20.
Officials say this isn’t the first absentee ballot issue they’ve had. Previous to this instance, some voters received the wrong absentee ballots in Greenville County when the Democratic presidential primary and the special election for sheriff were held. Also:
This comes after November 2018 Richland County failed to count 1,040 votes, submitting results two days after the S.C. Democratic primary because election officials realized they could not account for dozens of ballots. In March 2020, Richland County again realized it was short dozens of absentee ballots.

US announces $3 million reward for info on new ISIS leader
BEIRUT, LEBANON (9:20 A.M.) – The U.S. State Department has announced a $3 million reward for information that leads to the whereabouts or arrest of the new leader of the Islamic State (ISIS/ISIL/IS/Daesh), Muhammad Ramadan.
The State Department indicated that Muhammad Ramadan, who was born in Jordan, is considered one of the most prominent officials in the terrorist organization.
They said, “He played an essential role in the propaganda operations of (ISIS) in order to recruit and incite elements and make them extremists, and supervised the planning, coordination and production of many videos, propaganda leaflets and online platforms that published violent scenes of torture and mass executions of civilians.”
The reward will be provided for information that leads to the location or seizure of Ramadan under the State Department’s “Rewards for Justice” program.

Illinois Gov. J.B. Prtizker Lifts All Restrictions on Churches After Christians Take Him to Supreme Court
Less than four hours before the deadline for Gov. J.B. Prtizker to file his response to the U.S. Supreme Court to the emergency injunction request brought by two Romanian churches, the governor unilaterally removed all restrictions on churches and houses of worship.
Within a few hours yesterday after two Romanian churches filed an emergency injunction pending appeal to the U.S. Supreme Court, Justice Kavanaugh ordered Gov. Pritzker to respond by 8:00 p.m. Thursday night. Just before the deadline, Gov. Prtizker issued “guidelines” for houses of worship, none of which are mandatory.
Liberty Counsel represents Elim Romanian Pentecostal Church and Logos Baptist Ministries.
The guidelines are only suggestions and contain no legally enforceable requirements whatsoever. The governor is no longer imposing his draconian 10-person limit on church services.
This is a complete victory in the near term. However, unless and until there is a judicial declaration that Governor Pritzker has acted unconstitutionally thus far, there is nothing keeping him from changing his mind again, whether in this crisis or any future crisis. Governor Pritzker has shown himself quite willing to overrule the Constitution by fiat. In doing so, he has caused incalculable damage to the Romanian churches Liberty Counsel represents and all the houses of worship in the state.

Democrat Mayor Jacob Frey told reporters that he made the decision “to evacuate the Third Precinct” after receiving information about the severity of the riots.
“I made the decision to evacuate the Third Precinct,” Frey said. “The symbolism of a building cannot outweigh the importance of life, of our officers or the public. Brick and mortar is not as important as life.”

'We aren't backing down': New US ruling says letting transgender girls compete in high school sports IS a breach of civil rights
A row over transgender athletes has intensified after education chiefs threatened funding cuts and backed a challenge from female-born competitors in a ruling labeled by campaigners as "yet another Trump administration attack."
The state of Connecticut could be forced to stop allowing transgender girls to compete as girls in high school sports after a warning from the US Education Department, issued as part of a 45-page letter in response to a case filed last year by several cisgender female track athletes, that their federal funding could be affected should the policy remain in place.
Officials decided that the policy is a violation of the federal civil rights law that guarantees equal education opportunities for women, including in athletics, and concluded that transgender competitors had physical advantages which were denying female student-athletes a wide range of benefits, opportunities and accolades.
Chelsea Mitchell, a senior who was among the plaintiffs against transgender runners Terry Miller and Andraya Yearwood, said she was relieved to hear that her “lost” championships would “mean something.”

A female motorist in Denver, Colorado plowed her SUV through a crowd of demonstrators protesting the police killing of an unarmed black man in Minnesota. Local activists have tried to identify the woman on social media.
As protesters blocked a street in downtown Denver on Thursday, one motorist lashed out at the activists, some of whom were holding ‘Black Lives Matter’ placards.
Video footage captured at the scene shows the woman accelerating through the crowd at an intersection, throwing one man onto the hood of her vehicle. When the man falls off the SUV, the driver turns her vehicle in his direction and runs him over with her front wheel.

John Rieple: Cadillac Pawn & Jewelry Owner Booked on Murder Accusation
John Rieple, the owner of Cadillac Pawn & Jewelry, a store in Minneapolis, Minnesota, has been booked on a murder accusation after a man was found dead of a gunshot wound on a sidewalk near Rieple’s business, according to Hennepin County jail records.
The shooting came amidst a night of major unrest in Minneapolis following the Monday death of George Floyd after a police officer restrained Floyd with a knee pressed to his neck. Anger over Floyd’s death spilled into the streets, as people looted and torched businesses. Videos showed heavy looting at Rieple’s store. A graphic video, which you can watch later in this article, shows the shooting aftermath outside Cadillac Pawn & Jewelry, but be aware that it’s very disturbing. In that video, bystanders claim someone was “shooting from the pawn shop,” which police haven’t confirmed.
Rieple’s arrest came after Libor Jany, a journalist for the Minneapolis Star Tribune, reported, via a police source, that Rieple had shot and killed a suspected looter at his business. Police confirmed in their first press conference on the shooting that they were investigating the theory that the owner of the Cadillac Pawn & Jewelry store shot a suspected looter, but they said they were also investigating other theories they wouldn’t describe. Police spokesman John Elder confirmed at midnight that one person was in custody and one person was dead but named neither.

In other words, you are safe as the proverbial church in a bar where doctors like Fauci say you aren’t likely to catch the virus—but more likely to expose yourself to it when receiving the Body of Jesus Christ.
