Donald Trump cuts ties with World Health Organisation claiming it is under China's 'total control'
Donald Trump has officially cut ties with the World Health Organisation (WHO) over its response to the coronavirus pandemic.
The US president accused the global body of failing to adequately tackle the Covid-19 crisis because, he claimed, it is under China's “total control”.
Speaking from the White House Rose Garden on Friday, Mr Trump pressed ahead with plans to end US funding for the WHO, which amounts to hundreds of millions of dollars a year.
The US is the largest source of financial support to the WHO and its exit is expected to significantly weaken the organisation.

Hungary makes movie about massive loss of territory after WWI and historic speech of Count Apponyi
On June 4, exactly 100 years after Hungary signed the Trianon Treaty which amounted to a national catastrophe, Hungarian state channel Duna TV will broadcast the movie that explores the traumatic event with a focus on Count Albert Apponyi's famed speech on Jan. 16, 1920.
The movie, entitled "The Speech", refers directly to Apponyi, the leader of the Hungarian peace delegation following World War I, and the speech he delivered in Paris upon receiving the peace conditions of the Allied Powers.
"Should Hungary be put in a position to choose between accepting this peace or refuse its signature, it would be tantamount to asking itself whether to commit suicide in order to remain alive," Apponyi said in the speech, which had little impact on the terms of the peace itself, but remains to this day a defining element of 20th century Hungarian history.
The Trianon Treaty divided more than two-thirds of the territory of the Kingdom of Hungary among its neighbors and as a result, Hungary lost 72 percent of its territory and 64 percent of its population to the above-mentioned neighboring countries.
Romania, one of the major beneficiaries — it received the entire territory of Transylvania — is this year celebrating the centenary of the treaty, whereas Hungary is attempting to convert the moment into a source of national pride. The country is working to point out that 100 years later, the ethnic Hungarian communities in the countries where its territories were lost are still alive and in some cases even thriving, despite recurrent waves of nationalism on the part of the majority nations where they reside.

Klobuchar faces increased scrutiny over her decision to not prosecute officer who killed George Floyd
Minnesota Senator and potential Democratic Vice-Presidential nominee Amy Klobuchar is coming under increased scrutiny after George Floyd died in police custody.
Before being elected to the United States Senate, Klobuchar worked for eight years as the Hennepin County Attorney, handling all prosecutions in the city of Minneapolis. During that time, she made the decision not to prosecute the man responsible for Floyd's death, officer Derek Chauvin, who faced at least 10 complaints about his conduct.
In one incident, Chauvin was involved in the shooting of a man who had attacked police in 2006. After Klobuchar declined to prosecute, a grand jury later concurred with her decision. Chauvin would be placed on leave for a second shooting that occurred in 2011 involving a Native American man.
The Washington Post documented Klobuchar's record back in March, long before the furor over Floyd's death. They noted that she "declined to bring charges in more than two dozen cases in which people were killed in encounters with police."

Brazil Stands With Taiwan Against Chinese Totalitarianism
The Chinese communist regime sought to silence Brazilian parliamentarians to prevent support for Taiwan.
Spanish – The latest international display of censorship by the Chinese communist regime, which is under worldwide scrutiny for its lack of transparency in handling the coronavirus, was its attempt to silence Brazilian deputies and senators.
Brazil, with a population of over 212 million, is today, the country with the second-highest number of reported cases of COVID-19 in the world, 394,507, of which nearly half, 158,593 have recovered, and 24,593 have died (about 7%).
The pandemic broke out in Wuhan and spread to the world after the Chinese regime persecuted doctors and journalists who warned of it through censorship, detention, and disappearances. Meanwhile, the Chinese embassy in Brazil sent a letter recommending the silencing of Brazilian parliamentarians regarding the swearing-in of Taiwan’s president.
Eduardo Bolsonaro, the congressman with the most votes in the history of Brazil, son of President Jair Bolsonaro, not only congratulated the president but also highlighted Taiwan as an example of efficiency in the fight against the pandemic.
He echoed the Brazilian ruling-party deputy Paulo Eduardo Martins, who calls the embassy’s letter an “insult” and labels the regime a “dictatorship.”
