BREAKING: Multiple Contaminated Drugs Raise Red Flag for FDA Oversight

I wonder if this might explain why metformin was increasing the risk of B-12 deficiency and nerve damage. Funny how an off-patent cheap “Wonder Drug” for diabetes that has anti-aging and anti-cancer properties ends up being contaminated with a potent neurotoxin. I have a strong suspicion this wasn’t an “accident”.

excerpt: “An agency spokesperson said FDA tests have not shown elevated levels of NDMA in immediate-release versions of metformin.”

This may also explain why sustained release metformin wasn’t working the same for many. I had a friend taking it who monitored his blood sugar very closely and he told me that the sustained release metformin didn't work the same for him and he would have to make a point to have his doctor request the immediate release, because the default with the pharmacy was the newer sustained release version. They "thought he was crazy."

Since this sounds like a problem with multiple drugs made overseas (China?), it might also explain why Trump has recently pushed to bring pharmaceutical manufacturing back to the US.

We already knew that China was sending our military bad steel and other faulty equipment. Perhaps they have also been systematically poisoning us (intentionally or not) with their pharmaceutical manufacturing. Remember when they got caught poisioning our pets with melamine?

Whether it was intentional or not on part of the Chinese doesn't really matter. Like the persistent unfairness in our Trade agreements, the more important question is why did those in the US who could have stopped it earlier allow this to go on for so long? Easy! It was good for disease, which in biopharma/tech translates to "its good for the medical business." Think about your grandmother or grandfather who has been maintained on multiple pharmaceuticals contaminated with unacceptable levels of a potent neurotoxin. Can you say "Alzheimer's disease?"

NDMA's contamination of drinking water is of particular concern due to the minute concentrations at which it is harmful, the difficulty in detecting it at these concentrations, and to the difficulty in removing it from drinking water. It does not readily biodegrade, adsorb, or volatilize. As such, it cannot be removed by activated carbon and travels easily through soils. Relatively high levels of UV radiation in the 200 to 260 nm range breaks the N–N bond and can thus be used to degrade NDMA. Additionally, reverse osmosis removes approximately 50% of NDMA. NDMA is found at low levels in numerous items of human consumption, including cured meat, fish, beer, tobacco smoke. The pathway for NDMA formation involves nitrous acid produced from sodium nitrite, which is used to cure meat. NDMA arises by the combination of nitrous acid and dimethylamine derived from the degradation of protein (food) in the lower gut.

Whisleblowers can be compensated well if the fraud is proven in court. The settlement brought a $33.75 million payment to Joseph Thomas, the whistleblower who drew attention to the fraud when he worked for Duke.
