Protesters, officers face off at Sacramento police station
SACRAMENTO, Calif. —
Protesters are at a Sacramento police facility and facing off with armed officers after gathering in Oak Park and marching south.
Hundreds of people gathered Friday evening to rally against the police custody death of George Floyd in Minneapolis.
The protest was organized by Black Lives Matter-Sacramento and began around 6 p.m. at Oak Park Market, located at 3300 12th Avenue.
“Occupy space with us Friday evening!” the Black Lives Matter- Sacramento event said. “We will be showing solidarity with our comrades on the ground in Minneapolis fighting for justice for #GeorgeFloyd.”
