Sorry anon, but you're confusing the issue here.
These recent downings have to do with electronics, either defective or hackable.
With all the 'lowest bidder' horseshit and the blessing (and intent) of the previous administration, chips are coming from offshore.
Steel would be more of a Army/Navy issue than with the Air Force / aeronautic divisions .
