Elon is a bit of an enigma to me too, I don’t think he is a leftist though, probably libertarian which makes him appeal to both sides of the fence at times.

He is an engineer and very good at that, but he is pretty quirky.

I’m starting to get the idea he is neutral politically and is driven more by the wind of political prosperity…ie which side can advance him the most, I hope he is moar than that, but I just don’t really know so I watch him with intrigue.

As I said political prosperity, I think he sees Trump as the future, of his own plans, Space force works very well with Elon’s Spacex company. His tweet is still somewhat cryptic though, but my guess is he and Trump must have had some kind of understanding together.

Musk though does have leftist leanings in the climate change sector, which is why he appeals to the left with his Tesla electric vehicle. His solar company appeals to both conservatives and liberals alike who think alternative power isn’t necessarily a bad thing.

I guess why my answer is Musk is a player who will make a deal with which ever side wants to pay. Is that capitalism?

It may be that he is an opportunist, which can be both a positive or negative characteristic depending upon your perspective of why he makes his choices and decisions.

Is he an ideologue who sees the development of his technology as beneficial to society?

…or does he just see the bottom line in $$$$$ and will develop his technology to fit any political agenda?

He may be a bit of both, It may be he has no foundational allegiance or firm beliefs to ground him, which truly would be sad.

I grew up with the notion that if you don’t stand for something you will stand for anything.

I hope he eventually takes a stand against the left.
