This misses the most important point.
The point is that the pilot has to commit to the landing.
From positions of broken webcams, it indicates most of them are on the northeast side of the whitehouse. One functional camera north of the whitehouse has some overflow crowd, but the majority is not visible on traffic camera.
Its a military bunker…. why would he need to leave?
