First time hearing about Reno in all this.

Quieter than most but they're out there.

RENO, Nev. (KOLO)– 8 p.m. update: Police asked protestors to leave the area of city hall. When they did not, the police used tear gas to disperse them.

Police widened their perimeter around city hall.

7:35 p.m. update: Exits from Interstate 80 to Keystone Avenue, Virginia Street and Wells Avenue have been closed.

7:25 p.m. update: Reno Mayor Hillary Schieve has imposed a curfew fordowntown Reno.

“Citizens are advised to stay indoors and avoid public gatherings,” Shieve said in a tweet. “Peaceful protest and the right to assembly are sacred. Violence and destruction are not.”

Schieve said the city of Reno will not tolerate excessive use of force.

“Emotions are high and many in our community are in pain,” Schieve tweeted. “We know that justice sometimes doesn’t come as fast as we’d like. But I implore our citizens to channel this energy into the true fight: social justice, equality, and accountability. We love our city and all who live here.”

Original story: Perhaps 1,000 or more people held a Black Lives Matter protest in downtown Reno on Saturday, demanding justice for George Floyd and for an end of police brutality to black people.
