one lesson we learned from the Tet Offensive was that although we can defeat the enemy militarily in a short period of time, the enemy will turn their dead into martyrs and make political hay off them for years to come.

The biggest massacre of the Vietnam War occurred during the Tet Offensive

 

The Vietcong buried alive over 5000 people in the outskirts of the city of Hue during a botched effort to take them into the jungle as POWs.

 

Yet how many of our college students learn about that Vietcong massacre? Instead all they hear about is the My Lai massacre in which under 800 civilians died (after the commie general Vo Nguyen Giap unwisely declared that 'all citizens, young and old, are members of the People's Army of Vietnam').
