I can answer a different question (not a lawfag). At what point is someone trespassing per Texas law?

defeat and pass a locked gate or door.

defeat at pass a fence.

Disregard and pass no trespassing signs

Disregard and pass fenceposts painted purple, which are no trespassing markers.

Disregard owners instructions not to trespass (owners, and maybe police, spoken or written words become a no trespassing notice)

Texas protects REASONABLE force to protect life or property up to and including lethal force.

For contrast:

if a girl scout comes in your front door to offer cookies, reasonable force might be politely showing her the way out.

If an aggressor breaks down a little old ladies front door, she will have to do what she has to do.
