'Seattle mayor announces new curfew for tonight after massive weekend unrest

Seattle Mayor Jenny Durkan said Monday that the city will impose another curfew tonight as a result of weekend protests and planned protests expected again for this eveniing.

Speaking during an afternoon press conference, the mayor said the curfew will begin at 6 p.m. and last through 5 a.m. Tuesday.

Gov. Jay Inslee today activated up to 200 more members of the Washington National Guard in response to a request from King County

to help Bellevue respond to looting and to protect against property damage and manage crowds and traffic throughout the county if

necessary. Guard personnel will be unarmed and work under the direction of local leadership.
