Costs more than a dollar to counterfeit a dollar. A plausible reason to counterfeit a one dollar bill, lace it with poison or plague for maximum circulation.
Not doubting you, just that they are a lot of work, serious legal risk, for little “payoff”. More going on than just an easy buck.
