Well… apart from the super massive black hole, the center of the milky way is the brightest place in the galaxy.

 

Imagine being that close to so many stars.

 

As far as I know, no-one's actually observed a black hole either… we can only detect their influence over nearby objects because they are obscured by the light of other stars. They might be incredibly bright things.
