I’m wondering if the virus was maybe intentionally engineered with a ‘short half-life’ so to speak. If it is a bio-weapon engineered by the CCP then they presumably intended to launch it against the west and by the time it came back to themselves, it would be relatively benign. They fucked up (or were sabotaged) and it ended up damaging them more than the intended target.
