Parables 7&8

P-7

Luke 12:15-21

15 And He said to them, “Take heed and beware of [a]covetousness, for one’s life does not consist in the abundance of the things he possesses.”16 Then He spoke a parable to them, saying: “The ground of a certain rich man yielded plentifully. 17 And he thought within himself, saying, ‘What shall I do, since I have no room to store my crops?’ 18 So he said, ‘I will do this: I will pull down my barns and build greater, and there I will store all my crops and my goods. 19 And I will say to my soul, “Soul, you have many goods laid up for many years; take your ease; eat, drink, and be merry.” ’ 20 But God said to him, ‘Fool! This night your soul will be required of you; then whose will those things be which you have provided?’21 “So is he who lays up treasure for himself, and is not rich toward God.”

This parable speaks to those who have been successful and the cost of others having little. No one but God knows when a thief will take our lives and stuff. It will serve us little after our death, so why do we choose to hoard more? (This explains my love for something excessive and the anti-climatic experience of owning that something; I could have helped someone out with that money and felt better about that purchase.)So, this is a personal, community and country wide problem with the USA leading in the dichotomy of wealth vs destitution. It is unacceptable as a human standard and needs addressed fast, lest we loose our stuff to thieves. Additionally, this explains a part of the love hate relationship with DJT. Most only see the side they hate and fail to see the good he has done in life for lives.

Which brings me to a side bar - POTUS has not brought a dog home to the White House, so, I would like to recommend the Normand Artisan Basset Hound. They are the cowboys of the dog world and everyone loves cowboys, and that’s World Wide!

P-8

Luke 12:35-40

35 “Let your waist be girded and your lamps burning; 36 and you yourselves be like men who wait for their master, when he will return from the wedding, that when he comes and knocks they may open to him immediately. 37 Blessed are those servants whom the master, when he comes, will find watching. Assuredly, I say to you that he will gird himself and have them sit down to eat, and will come and serve them. 38 And if he should come in the second watch, or come in the third watch, and find them so, blessed are those servants. 39 But know this, that if the master of the house had known what hour the thief would come, he would [a]have watched and not allowed his house to be broken into. 40 Therefore you also be ready, for the Son of Man is coming at an hour you do not expect.”

This parable is expansive. If you are under the employ of others, it is expected that you be prepared and ready to serve. If your employer knew someone would steal or take their livelihood, he would never hire them. Additionally, those who serve have a responsibility to serve their master and, in turn, the master should be honored to serve them. This speaks to the end of our era when we ascend to new heights of consciousness, love and forgiveness; our place is set if we are willing to DO what is good and we do it from a place of love in our hearts and keep our lamps burning bright. Lastly, this speaks to being prepared for the end of the era in your heart, mind and spirit, because God can only take you to new heights if you are prepared to do so. Otherwise, you get recycled…

This is not about another 4year election, it is about a new future built on a sturdy foundation that has weathered many storms and is anchored in love and truth, all the truth.
