I love how Lindsey sort of let Rod go into his "slick let me dodge the question and then act confident" thing, but then right as Rod really started getting into it Lindsey called him back right back down to Earth and then Rod's entire facade collapsed immediately

Lindsey Graham had RR nervous, then Grassley let RR ramble on and on, bullshitting his way back to comfort through his own happy talk. I assume there's a greater strategy to this, but every time I see the snakes being allowed to bullshit happy-talk their way back into comfort, during these hearings, I lose a little bit of confidence in our system.
What's your take on Grassley allowing him the floor to happy-talk his way back to confidence?
Maybe giving him false confidence to crash him back down again later?
