1 : guarding from or preventing the spread or occurrence of disease or infection

2 : tending to prevent or ward off :PREVENTIVE

>Post - Exposure Prophylaxis

After exposure, it’s no longer a prophylactic. What the actual fuck, it’s like they aren’t even trying.

How fucking stupid. The point of a prophylaxis is to prevent the bug from getting a foothold in the system and causing the disease in the first place.

They are using semantics right off the back to come to a pre determined conclusion.

This study was designed to fail from the get go.

omg this is pissing me off more and more as I read.

The participants were divided into two groups and received either hydroxychloroquine or a placebo

4 days after exposure.

After two weeks of treatment, the results showed that the anti-malarial drug was no better than the placebo in protecting a person from COVID-19.

David Boulware, one of the members of the study team from University of Minnesota, outlined that the goal of the research was to know if hydroxychloroquine

worked for preventing the disease.

FFS, Medfag here. This whole thing is so fucking stupid. They want to know if it will prevent the disease after someone has been exposed, then they’re “disappointed” that after the person was exposed and left to fester for four days before giving them the drug, they’re sad that the rates of infection are the same.

THATS BECAUSE THEY WAITED TILL THEY WERE ALREADY INFECTED! Like holy fucking shit, these asshats need to lose their medical licenses for this bullshit.

If this was an honest study, they would have started the medication AND placebo four days PRIOR to exposing the groups to covid 19.

This is absolutely just enraging. “We came here to find a result and we got one” (sic)

They got their predetermined conclusion is what they got. Any other honest medical personnel out there would literally laugh in these people’s faces for trying to push this as a legitimate study.
