Elon Musk Tweets Jeff Bezos: “Time to Break Up Amazon” After Company Bans Alex Berenson Book on ‘Unreported Truths About COVID-19’

Earlier today former New York Times reporter Alex Berenson tweeted out that Amazon had censored and refused to publish his latest book “Unpublished Truths about COVID-19 and Lockdowns.”

Of course, this infuriated Alex who then tweeted out on the items still available at Amazon books.

Jeff Bezos’s company even defended publishing a book on pedophilia.

That’s when Elon Musk weighed in and tweeted out “Time to Break Up Amazon” in response to this outrageous assault on free speech.

Elon is right.

These leftist tech giants are killing off free speech in America.

Amazon later allowed the book to be sold on their website.

Researchers Retract Botched Anti- Hydroxychloroquine Study Which Was Used To Attack Trump

An influential study which found anti-malaria drug hydroxychloroquine raised the risk of cardiac issues has been retracted by its three authors.

The study, published on May 22 in the UK's prestegious Lancet medical journal, relied on bogus data from a company called Surgisphere, which would not transfer the full dataset for an independent review, and "can no longer vouch for the veracity of the primary data sources."

While the company that produced the original data, Surgisphere Corp., had signaled that it would cooperate with an independent review, it ultimately reneged and said doing so would violate confidentiality agreements, wrote the study authors. “As such, our reviewers were not able to conduct an independent and private peer review,” the authors said. -Bloomberg

Notably, the World Health Organization halted trials of the drug, only to reverse course after the Lancet issued a major disclaimer regarding the study.

It wasn't just the WHO who used it to knock HCQ either - as the study was heavily relied upon by the left to mock President Trump for taking the drug.

"We all entered this collaboration to contribute in good faith and at a time of great need during the Covid-19 pandemic," said the authors. "We deeply apologize to you, the editors, and the journal readership for any embarrassment or inconvenience that this may have caused."

Toymaker Lego Asks Retailers to Pull Promos for Police, Firefighters, White House Figures

The Danish toymaker Lego has asked retailers to pull promotional materials for some play figures in response to the death of George Floyd at the hands of Minneapolis police, including all police figures and accessories, firefighters, and accessories, and even the White House.

The Toy Book obtained the email sent to retailers:

The Toy Book has received a copy of an email sent to affiliate marketers by Rakuten Linkshare on behalf of the LEGO Group. The email requests removal of product listings and features for more than 30 LEGO building sets, Minifigures, and accessories that include representation of police officers, firefighters, criminals, emergency vehicles, and buildings. Sets include the LEGO City Police Station, Fire Station, Police Dog Unit, Patrol Car, Fire Plane, Mobile Command Center, Police Highway Arrest, and many more. Even the LEGO City Donut Shop Opening set — which includes Police Officer “Duke DeTain” and “Crook” Minifigures — roleplay items including a Police Handcuffs & Badge Set, and the adult builder LEGO Creator version of The White House made the removal list.

The website also reported that a spokesperson with Lego responded to their request for comment:

We requested that our affiliate partners refrain from posting promotional LEGO content as part of our decision to respect #BlackOutTuesday and pause posting content on our social media channels in response to the tragic events in the US. We regret any misunderstanding and will ensure that we are clearer about our intentions in the future.

Lego has also joined the long list of corporate virtue-signaling, according to the U.K.’s Metro:

Lego has donated $4 million in a bid to support black children and fight racial inequality, in the wake of the protests taking place around the world. Protests were sparked across the US after George Floyd died during an arrest, when white police officer Derek Chauvin knelt on his neck for more than eight minutes, despite his insistence that he couldn’t breathe. Following his death, people have taken to the streets to march in support of Black Lives Matter. And Lego has now pledged millions of dollars to fight racism and educate kids about equality.

Sky News Blames Russians for US Defense Contractor Hack Without Evidence

After discovering that hackers hit a US defense contractor with ransomware, the UK’s Sky News reported on Wednesday that “Russian-speaking” people were suspected of the attack, wholly without evidence.

Sky News reported on Wednesday that hackers had broken into the computer network at Westech International, a US defense contractor that provides engineering maintenance and support for the Pentagon’s Minuteman III nuclear-tipped intercontinental ballistic missiles.

According to the outlet, the hackers stole documents from Westech’s network before encrypting its computers, then threatened to leak the documents online if the company didn’t pay them for the codes to regain access to the computers - a type of extortion known as ransomware.

“There are also concerns that Russian-speaking operators behind the attack could attempt to monetize their haul by selling information about the nuclear deterrent on to a hostile state,” Sky News reported. However, the article provides absolutely no evidence for this claim.

The claim seems to stem from the fact that Westech’s computers were encrypted with a program called MAZE, which Sky News noted “is traded on a range of Russian-speaking underground cyber crime markets.”

“The IP addresses are detected as from the Russian Federation but that does not prove that the malware came from this country,” antivirus software company McAfee said in a March report on the functioning of MAZE, which is also called ChaCha, adding that “it could be deliberate misdirection but, with the language checks of CIS countries, it certainly appears possible.”

Tech outlet CRN also reported in April after IT service provider Cognizant was hit with a MAZE ransomware attack: “The actors posted a link on a Russian hacker and malware forum that contained files such as termination agreements, contracts, medical records, server directory listings, encryption certificates, and exported lists of users from active directory servers.”

And that’s it, folks, the evidence behind the claim is that the software is associated with people who talk on Russian-language hacker forums. Sky News and Westech did not confirm information on who the hackers were and only knew for certain that personal information had been stolen by them.

Maxine Waters Classifies Term ‘Rioting’ as ‘Negative Language … Used Against Black People’

Rep. Maxine Waters (D-CA), in an interview published Wednesday, explained why she rejects the term “rioting” in describing violent protests, contending that the word is part of “negative language used far too often in a description of black people by folks who fundamentally don’t see black people the same way they see whites and others.”

Waters spoke to The Cut about her “longtime fight over the language of insurrection and unrest versus rioting” and told the outlet that the unrest in recent days brought her to reflect on “what was going on back in the day, when I was confronting Daryl Gates, starting when the police shot Eula Love, which brought me in contact with the police commission and brought me to taking a look at what was going on with police community relations” years ago.

She spoke in depth about her experience with Gates, Los Angeles’s former police chief, and explained how those events shaped her view of the “negative language” used today.

“A lot of negative language gets used against black people, describing what whites often believe is true about us: that language includes ‘lazy,’ ‘criminal,’ and ‘rioting,’” Waters told the outlet.

“It’s all negative language used far too often in a description of black people by folks who fundamentally don’t see black people the same way they see whites and others,” she continued, drawing a connection between the protests in 1992 and those that have played out over the last week:

So when they talked about rioting in 1992, what I saw was an explosion of a hopelessness being played out. I’d been working with those children in public housing and understood what was going on with crack cocaine, that these communities had been dropped off of America’s agenda, and the only real interaction they had was with police: the use of a battering ram to break down a door, as Daryl Gates did, or stopping young black men on the street to have them spread their legs to be searched by police. So when this unfortunate situation happened, where we had a lot of these young people in the street, they were acting out in anger and frustration. It reminded me of much of which I saw this past weekend, with people who had been cooped up because of COVID-19, who have lost jobs, whose family members have been getting infected, and then you have this police officer put his knee on the neck of George Floyd and hold it for eight minutes-plus, while his life drained out on the sidewalk … that was the straw that broke the camel’s back. So yes, I said “insurrection”: People acting out of frustration and hopelessness and understanding that they don’t have an establishment — political or otherwise — that really cared about their ability to work or have good health care. Yes, I choose to call it an insurrection.

While it is true that there have been peaceful protests around the country, several demonstrations in major U.S. cities have turned into violent riots — a term Waters continues to reject. Over the past week, demonstrations in New York City, D.C., Philadelphia, and Santa Monica have quickly devolved as protesters took to the streets, attacking police officers, vandalizing buildings, smashing police vehicles, and looting businesses one by one:
