Remember the movie Broken Arrow with John Travolta. We have radiation detection equipment that can find ALL radioactive sources (above certain limits I'm sure). So nuclear bombs and I'd guess most dirty bombs should be detectable while being moved. It is possible to shield a source in storage with lots of lead but it's hard to covertly transport that kind of shielding. Perhaps plane fags can keep an eye out for that helo's movements in the coming days.
