as a symbolic unity gesture I suggest that a commitee be formmed to vote to move the two parts of it together to close the chasam that is the purpose of it, the 'spell' that they hope it would cause is a devide.
that was the purpose of it, and the scoff quality of it, turning Reverend King from an approachable caring person into a monsterous overlord scold.
perhaps after it's decided that it's appropriate to modify the statue, this 'realigning' of the parts to remove the chasm can happen spontaneously.
