After having a funny tweet go viral this week I'm pretty convinced social media kpop stans are in actuality a Chinese bot army. 3.2 million impressions, 2.9 million engagements.

I began noticing a repeating pattern in the quotetweets, usually from kpop idol profile pictures that almost always have a rainbowish circle framing them. They all replied with one of about ten identical phrases. It reminded me a lot of how the media carries the same keywords across a bunch of outlets after they get those 4am marching orders.

Anyway the point I'm getting to is that everytime we see kpop stans on Twitter doing things like fucking with the Q hashtag or overloading servers being used to submit video of crimes, I genuinely think we need to consider the idea that this is a foreign bad actor stoking the fire. And frankly I'd be absolutely surprised if it were anyone but China.
