In the old days if anarchy threatened, even arch political enemies would publically at least - for Statesmanlike appearance - call for control and order and compassion. The optics would be applauded by a responsible media and political capital would be made later by the 'peacemaker' who by calming words brought a Nation back from the precipice.
But that was the old days, when ex-Presidents rode into the sunset rather than setting up their home in the saloon just across the street.
All civility of office appears gone. Either this is one massive American 'game' directed at some external outside force that won't know what hit it when the masks come off all the 'players'
