JONESTOWN
The importance of the events of Jonestown (and lifetime career of Jim Jones) cannot be understated.
To this day people use the phrase "drink the kool-aid", most often not even knowing where the expression came from… or that very of them actually died by drinking the poison voluntarily.
First count of bodies was around 200/300. Then, over the next few days, that doubled, and yet again grew to around 900. Hey, not easy cleaning up a jungle of fleeing freshly-ex-members of a suddenly-turned-death cult, even with help from military squads conveniently around with exercises.
Anyway, to try and keep it short, Jones was a complete clown, drained a big part of San Francisco's hippie/militant/religious community into his cult, abused the fuck out of it, fleed to fkn Guyana, proceeded with all sorts of experiments we know little about (but found industrial quantities of drugs/chemicals).
And hey, remember that MKULTRA thing? And the fact that we know about it because of a certain Church Committee?
>The Church Committee was the United States Senate Select Committee to Study Governmental Operations with Respect to Intelligence Activities, a U.S. Senate committee chaired by Idaho Senator Frank Church (D-ID) in 1975.
>https:// en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Church_Committee
Well 3 years later, the Clowns got their revenge on Church, when he went down to Guyana to check out what this whole thing was about.
As usual in these big black ops, there's an apparent convergence of motives for the operation, so you can never really pin it down on a single one.
But that must have been one of the advantages in pulling the plug on the whole circus that way…
//here are some youtube links, but from what i remember when i went through a lot of them, they're very on/off: some go completely with the established tale, others dare to dig up interesting questions.
I'm not sure these are some of those, and/or if they're still available… I remember one from the 70s/80s that was very solid, but sorry, been years, not sure which it is… (ah, i think that one in 4 parts)

Jonestown Mass Suicide Tape (Full Recording) (WARNING GRAPHIC)
warning indeed: when i first listened to this years back, sure it redpilled the fuck out of me, but damn it hurt, too. To hear mothers begging, trying to reason with Jones about the fact that maybe everyone killing themselves isn't the only possible course of action… and to think we're told the Fairy Tale that they were all so brainwashed and dumb and stooopid that they all drank the koolaid happily… ugh.
