Before his Balinese sojourn, the former president appeared in a recorded video honoring Shawn Carter (aka Jay Z) at a ceremony inducting him into the Songwriters Hall of Fame on June 15.

Barack and Michelle Obama were spotted on Harvard University's campus on Augugst 23, moving their oldest child, Malia, into her dorm room. The former first daughter is a freshman at the college this fall.
