He married Penelope Ann Cooper in 1974, and inherited the family's titles and 200-year-old Worcestershire mansion, Hagley Hall, on his father's death in 1977. Facing steep death duties and high maintenance costs as well as the unstable state of finances left by his predecessors, he auctioned his family's 700-year archive for £164,000,
and sold Necker Island to Richard Branson for £180,000.

The house is set in 350 acres (1.4 km2) of landscaped deer park grazed by fallow deer of several colours. Wychbury Hill, although part of the Estate, is kept open to public.
There has been a park at Hagley since the reign of Edward III of England in the 14th century. The present landscape was created from about 1739 to 1764, with follies designed by John Pitt (of Encombe), Thomas Pitt, James "Athenian" Stuart, and Sanderson Miller.[citation needed]
Hagley and Croome Court have more follies and other similar features than any estate in the England.[8]
he follies at Hagley include Hagley Obelisk on Wychbury Hill, built in 1764 for Sir Richard Lyttelton. This is visible for many miles.[9] The Temple of Theseus built from 1759 to c. 1762 at a cost of £300 was a gift from Admiral Smith, Lyttelton's half-brother.
Other small buildings include some small classical buildings; a sham ruined castle and the "The Four Stones", or Ossian's Tomb as it was termed, on the summit of Clent Hill.[10][11]

It has certainly been described as eerie or creepy by many people locally. It is believed possible that the obelisk is built on the site of an ancient shrine or henge. Someone has also sprayed the words
"Who Put Bella In The Wych Elm" on the side of the obelisk, in white paint.

Ever hear of the Devil's Triangle?
>https:// infogalactic.com/info/ Bermuda_Triangle
The Bermuda Triangle, also known as the Devil's Triangle, is a loosely defined region in the western part of the North Atlantic Ocean, where a number of aircraft and ships are said to have disappeared under mysterious circumstances.
The earliest allegation of unusual disappearances in the Bermuda area appeared in a September 17, 1950 article published in The Miami Herald (Associated Press)[8] by Edward Van Winkle Jones.[9] Two years later, Fate magazine published "Sea Mystery at Our Back Door",[10] a short article by George X. Sand covering the loss of several planes and ships, including the loss of Flight 19, a group of five U.S. Navy TBM Avenger bombers on a training mission.
Sand's article was the first to suggest a supernatural element to the Flight 19 incident. In the February 1964 issue of Argosy, Vincent Gaddis' article "The Deadly Bermuda Triangle" argued that Flight 19 and other disappearances were part of a pattern of strange events in the region.[7] The next year, Gaddis expanded this article into a book, Invisible Horizons.[13]

USS Cyclops Main article: USS Cyclops (AC-4)
The incident resulting in the single largest loss of life in the history of the US Navy not related to combat occurred when the collier USS Cyclops, carrying a full load of manganese ore and with one engine out of action, went missing without a trace with a crew of 309 sometime after 3.4.1918, after departing the island of Barbados.
Although there is no strong evidence for any single theory, many independent theories exist, some blaming storms, some capsizing, and some suggesting that wartime enemy activity was to blame for the loss.[39][40]
In addition, two of Cyclops's sister ships, Proteus and Nereus were subsequently lost in the North Atlantic during World War II.
Both ships were transporting heavy loads of metallic ore similar to that which was loaded on Cyclops during her fatal voyage.

Some claim the disappearances in this area of the Atlantic Ocean, branded 'Isle of the Devil', are caused by huge freak waves, swallowing up everything in their path - while others point to the legends of ferociously strong whirlpools, mercilessly sucking down ships that get caught in them.
These may have occurred because of the movement of tectonic plates beneath the Bermuda Triangle.
Documentary "Draining the Bermuda Triangle' has explored the Puerto Rico trench. At 8km deep this is the deepest point of the Bermuda Triangle, and in fact the deepest of the entire Atlantic ocean.
It is feared that here, deep beneath the surface, the movement of tectonic plates could trigger an underwater volcano causing immense destructive waves that could easily overwhelm a boat like Cyclops, and possibly even cause a devastating tsunami.

The 2010 Haiti earthquake (French: Séisme de 2010 à Haïti; Haitian Creole: Tranblemanntè 12 janvye 2010 nan peyi Ayiti) was a catastrophic magnitude 7.0 Mw earthquake, with an epicenter near the town of Léogâne (Ouest Department), approximately 25 kilometres (16 mi) west of Port-au-Prince, Haiti's capital. The earthquake occurred at 16:53 local time (21:53 UTC) on Tuesday, 1.12.10.[7][8]

>https:// infogalactic.com/info/ Puerto_Rico
Puerto Rico lies at the boundary between the Caribbean and North American plates and is being deformed by the tectonic stresses caused by their interaction. These stresses may cause earthquakes and tsunamis. These seismic events, along with landslides, represent some of the most dangerous geologic hazards in the island and in the northeastern Caribbean.
The Puerto Rico Trench, the largest and deepest trench in the Atlantic, is located about 115 km (71 mi) north of Puerto Rico at the boundary between the Caribbean and North American plates.[93] It is 280 km (170 mi) long.[94] At its deepest point, named the Milwaukee Deep, it is almost 8,400 m (27,600 ft) deep.[93]
