Went for a jog in a Latinos for Trump shirt in Charlottesville, VA. Two black guys driving off from the pawn shop after just buying a gun and brandishing a full size 9mm at me as I ran by. Kind of quick, so I don't want to say he was pointing it at me. Could have been coincidence…but you don't wave around a gun like that in a car and give me the look he gave me without getting me real fucking suspicious and cautious. I told the pawn shop and the next cop that drove by. I made it clear that I wasn't accusing anyone yet, but that it was just really fucking not a good situation.

Then made it to the area near where all that shit when down in 2017 on the open mall and some 30-40ish looking white guy in sort of roughish dress casual, a backpack, and a facemask around his neck calls me a nazi under his breath as I run by.

I stopped, turned around and asked if he wanted to talk. He ignored me, so I asked again. Then he said something to the effect of he doesn't need to talk to Nazis, but real loud so that now all the outdoor restaurant customers are watching. I responded with "Nazi? Me? Do you remember when the Nazis made the Jews wear armbands? Nice mask!" He responded something after which I can't remember but it was just another dismissive empty insult. I almost said I was Jewish, but that wouldn't be true…I just clapped and said something like "Hey everyone, God Bless the freedom of speech. Look at that guy." Then turned around and kept going. People in their chairs like deer in the headlights. Crossing my fingers that maybe one person benefited from the teaching moment.

Shit turned up a couple notches today unlike I've seen in a while.
