No wonder we have this generation of childless national leaders. They are fucked up.
Reagan caused the deindustrialization of America. He allowed the wave of LBO's, broke middle class unions like PATCO but didn't do anything to communist unions like SEIU, killed the S&L's and allowed the last amnesty from Mexico.
He doesn't deserve to stand with Trump, who has to try to clean up those things. Remember Reagan started out a communist. Did he ever really change?
Trump needed Reagan voters in his base. Gradually we can deal with the actual effects of Reagan.
You didn't argue against a single thing I said. Saying "it's morning in America" doesn't offset that. Saying we're a "shining city on a hill" is a way of undercutting our self interest.
He did survive an attack. Well so did McCain. I still judge them by their actions after that, because they were in responsible positions.
Jimmy Carter wasn't great, but it was under Reagan that the LBO wave hit. Before: easy to find jobs with well resourced companies. After: companies running "lean and mean" on the edge of extinction, worshipping Japanese "just in time inventory", the end of defined benefit pensions (except for public employees!).
You don't know what you're talking about. I was working then.
That's nice, can he commercialize it?
