I imagine that if the rioters managed to get inside the WH, at first they would freeze and not know exactly what to do. It would be surreal to them.
They have an idea that they want to get inside, but they probably haven't thought clearly about what they would do if they succeeded.
It's not like they are prepared to leave the building intact and pretend to elect a new president, new Cabinet, etc.
