‘Get the F**k Outta Here!’: Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey Forced to Leave Protest for Refusing to Defund Police

Minneapolis protesters told Mayor Jacob Frey (D) he was no longer welcome to demonstrate against the death of George Floyd — an African-American man who died in police custody in the city — after he refused to commit to defunding its police department.

Footage shared to social media shows a masked Frey, who is under fire from both Republicans and Democrats over his response to protests and violent unrest, telling a crowd of protesters that he believes the city’s police department must undergo “structural reforms” and that a “systemic, racist system needs to be revamped.”

Then, one speaker pressed Frey on whether he would defund the police, asking him: “We have a yes or no question for you. Yes or no, will you commit to defunding the Minneapolis Police Department?

The speaker continued before Frey could respond: “We don’t want any more police, is that clear? We don’t want people with guns in our communities, shooting us down. Do you have an answer? It is a yes or a no.”

“If he says ‘no,’ guess what the fuck we are going to do next year,” the protester added, referring to the mayor being up for re-election next year.

Frey responded “I do not support abolishing the Minneapolis Police Department,” prompting the protester who asked him the question to shout “get the fuck outta here” at him.

Multiple protesters then began to boo Frey loudly and chant “go home Jacob, go home!”

Additional footage shows a downcast Frey then departing the protests amid more booes and chants of “shame!”

On Thursday, Minneapolis City Council President Lisa Bender vowed the council will “dismantle the Minneapolis Police Department and replace it with a transformative new model of public safety.” Minneapolis City Council member Jeremiah Ellison, son of Minnesota Attorney General Keith Ellison, echoed Bender’s pledge.

“We are going to dismantle the Minneapolis Police Department. And when we’re done, we’re not simply gonna glue it back together. We are going to dramatically rethink how we approach public safety and emergency response. It’s really past due,” he tweeted.

Are States Going To Prosecute Their Rioters? It Depends

Footage of violent riots and rampant looting is coming out of nearly every major city in the U.S., but states vary wildly in their efforts to prosecute those responsible for the unrest.

While local police have had no issues arresting those engaging in violence, some jurisdictions have declined to prosecute them. Others, however, such as Texas and Missouri, are taking a far more strict approach and partnering with the federal government to press charges.

Arguably the most relaxed reaction to rioters came out of St. Louis, Missouri, where local prosecutor Kim Gardner refused to charge nearly 40 people arrested for rioting.

“In a stunning development, our office has learned that every single one of the St. Louis looters and rioters arrested were released back onto the streets by local prosecutor Kim Gardner,” Missouri Attorney General Eric Schmitt tweeted Wednesday.

Gardner’s brazen move led Republican Missouri Gov. Mike Parson to announce a partnership with U.S. attorneys to prosecute the state’s rioters, most of whom were arrested in St. Louis.

“Those who seek to use these protests to destroy property and commit acts of violence, including those who come to Missouri from out of state, will be held accountable for their actions by federal and state authorities,” Schmitt said in a news release, according to Fox4. “Those acts of destruction and violence will not be tolerated.”

The partnership has already brought results in the state, with authorities pressing federal charges against two people this week. One man was charged with distributing information on explosives and other destructive devices. The second man was charged with intent to organize a riot.

Police in Chicago have arrested more than 1,500 protesters as well, but nearly 80% of them were charged with disorderly conduct, according to a local ABC affiliate.

Of the 1,500, police only referred 235 to the prosecutors office for serious felony consideration, most of them gun cases. The office reportedly authorized 88% of the cases.

UCSB prof uses religion class to teach about 'error' of ‘American Exceptionalism’

A lecture in a class meant to focus on Asian American Religion focused on how the concept of American Exceptionalism is an “error” that has been disproven.

The professor told students that the concept is pushed by the “dominant class” in order to “maintain control.”

A professor at the University of California-Santa Barbara who gave a lecture on the "error of American Exceptionalism," says coronavirus is just one piece of evidence of America’s shortcomings.

Rudy Busto teaches a course titled Asian American Studies/Religious Studies 71: Introduction to Asian American Religion. Toward the end of the spring semester, Busto posted a lecture on “American Civil Religion,” during which he proceeded to explain to the class how "history has dispelled the notion of American Exceptionalism."

Busto’s examples as proof for this claim included "losing the Vietnam War," the 9/11 terrorist attacks, and the "ongoing, unwinnable wars in the Middle East’," and even the United States’ coronavirus death toll and case count.

“The escalation of coronavirus cases and deaths in the United States, currently the most of any other country has reported, is a blow to our ego, certainly to our current administration’s ego,” Busto said during his lecture.

According to Busto, “American Exceptionalism” is a "culturally hegemonic" idea, which seeks to “manufacture consent" by the “dominant class.”

"Cultural hegemony," according to Busto, is “the idea that dominant ideas and beliefs and society are promoted by the dominant class as a way to maintain control.”

Busto suggested that the notion that "socialism is unacceptable for the United States" is a similarly culturally hegemonic idea.

NY Governor Cuomo’s Largest Donor Involved in Elderly Care Was Shielded from COVID-19 Lawsuits in April By Cuomo

New York Governor Andrew Cuomo’s largest donor is involved in the elderly care business. Not only did he help the donor make millions on COVID-19 but he also provided them immunity from legal ramifications as well.

We previously reported on New York’s Governor Andrew Cuomo, Health Commissioner Howard Zucker, MD and Executive Deputy Commissioner Sally Dreslin for having coronavirus blood on their hands.

Their actions led to thousands of deaths in New York state.

Yaacov Apelbaum at the Illustrated Primer drafted a post on the recent actions of New York’s governor and Department of Health Commissioner and Executive Deputy Commissioner. They are accountable for thousands of nursing home deaths because of their insane directives related to the China coronavirus. Below are some of the observations from Apelbaum.

Apelbaum first points out the ludicrous directive from New York’s Department of Health, including:

During this global health emergency, all NHs [nursing homes] must comply with the expedited receipt of residents returning from hospitals to NHs.

and:

No resident shall be denied re-admission or admission to the NH solely based on a confirmed or suspected diagnosis of COVID-19. NHs are prohibited from requiring a hospitalized resident who is determined medically stable to be tested for COVID-19 prior to admission or readmission

Dr. Fauci says the protests are the 'perfect set-up' for spreading COVID-19

‘There certainly is a risk’

There have been dozens of health officials downplaying the coronavirus health risks of people gathering in massive numbers for George Floyd protests across the country. Some have even said, "White supremacy is a lethal public health issue that predates and contributes to COVID-19."

Only a few weeks ago, nearly all health officials warned that the people protesting lockdown orders were putting everyone in grave danger. In April, there were even nurses staging protests against ant-shutdown protesters.

Dr. Anthony Fauci is one health official who is continuing to warn the public that the nation is still in the middle of a pandemic. The director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases said that the George Floyd protests are the "perfect set-up" for spreading COVID-19.

"Every time I hear about or see the congregation of large crowds at a time and geographic area where there is active infection transmission, it is a perfect set-up for the spread of the virus in the sense of creating these blips that might turn into some surges," Fauci said during an interview with Washington D.C. radio station WTOP on Friday. "So I get very concerned as do my colleagues in public health, when they see these kinds of crowds."

"Obviously, not only are they congregating physically close to each other but often when they start screaming and demonstrating—which part of the process of demonstrating, I'm not criticizing that—but I'm saying what it's going to be leading to is the likelihood that you might have situations where you will foster the spread of the infection, and that's really of concern," Fauci said.
