Anons, I humbly submit to you all that the problem with "race" in the USA today is not one of skin color, but it does have everything to do with the baggage of slavery. While wrong, the institution of slavery was important to the economy of most of this country. Fine. As many will tell you, we fought a civil war to free the slaves. Lincoln freed the slaves. Such and such "freed" the slaves.
But is one free if someone else grants them permission to be? This is intergenerational guilt that blacks were gifted freedom (instead of demanding it for themselves), and so therefore are still (psychological) slaves.
