I am not a coder, and can barely make out code's meaning, so I googled some lines from that code to see if I could find explanations. One line led me to this:

If I am not mistaken, this seems to check to make sure an automated (scheduled, random or current) tweet has an image attached, since tweets with no images do not get as may reads or engagement.

In this case, perhaps a tweet was tested or generated that had no image, and the code 'grabbed' an image to attach to it that was not supposed to, hence the George Poster.

This resulted in a public post on May 17 before the reported/official death of George Floyd on May 25.

This leaves two possible explanations, maybe more…

  1. This was an image for an event related to a planned, secret, later hit, which took place on May 25.

  1. George was already dead and on ice before May 17 (I have no idea if he was seen anytime between the 17th and the 25th — pardon my ignorance there) and was to be revealed later.
