Kneeling Protesters Told to Recite: ‘Revolution Is the Solution, Not Voting!’

A large group of George Floyd protesters knelt in the middle of a street in Manhattan, New York, on Saturday and repeated phrases chanted by an activist.

“Repeat after me,” a man with a megaphone told the group as they held signs with phrases such as “Defund the Police” and “Black Lives Matter” written on them.

“I am on stolen land!” he shouted as they echoed him, adding, “Built by stolen people!”

Next, the activist instructed them to say “Revolution is the only solution! I am a revolutionary!”

During the protest chants, he also appeared to mention the Black Hammer organization that believes “the Colonized Proletariat should have dictatorship over our lives, labor, land, and resources,” according to its website.

The site continued:

Understanding that capitalism was born from colonialism and is maintained at the expense of the world’s Colonized people through genocide, theft, rape and pillage, Black Hammer believes firmly that Colonized Poor and Working Class people should have complete dictatorship over our lives, labor, land, and resources, to produce and reproduce for ourselves. This is the only genuine path to an international society where no person lives at the expense of another.

Later, the activist told the group to repeat that voting was not a solution to change, but only revolution was the answer.

Libyan Army Claims It Repelled Turkish-Backed Attack On Sirte

The Libyan National Army (LNA) claimed on June 6 that its units had repelled a large-scale attack on the coastal town of Sirte.

Forces loyal to the Government for National Accord (GNA) launched the attack in the morning with a direct support from Turkey. Initially, GNA forces reached Sirte’s outskirt. However, the LNA was able to push them back after several hours of heavy clashes.

The LNA’s claims are yet to be verified. Recent footage revealed that army units sustained serious losses in the clashes around the town.

Meanwhile, the GNA’s operations room said that LNA units are retreating from Sirte. The operations room also claimed that a Wing Loong II combat drone of the UAE was shot down around the town.

Turkish combat drones as well as thousands of Syrian militants support GNA forces, which received loads of heavy weapons in the last few months. Without more support from its backers – Egypt and the UAE, the LNA will likely fail to hold onto its positions around Sirte for long.

'He'll air everyone's dirty laundry. Bring it on!' Lauren Sanchez's brother Michael breaks his silence about court feud with her and lover Jeff Bezos over leaked naked pictures - and tells friends it's not going to be pretty for the world's richest man

While millions have been laid off and we teeter on the brink of a global recession, one man is peering down from the summit of the biggest pile of money the world has ever seen.

Amazon boss Jeff Bezos was already the richest man on the planet before the coronavirus pandemic locked us in our homes and forced us into the arms of the internet. Soon he could become the first trillionaire in history.

Amazon's share price has soared nearly 30 per cent this year, increasing Bezos's personal fortune to $150 billion (£118 billion) as demand for his online shopping, streaming and delivery services boom. And experts say that wealth of $1 trillion – a thousand billion – is within reach by 2026, so rapidly is his fortune increasing.

It is not just Amazon that is in great shape. Bezos, himself, has undergone a remarkable transformation in recent months, from self-professed nerd to a Hollywood 'player'.

He's barely recognisable, in fact. Since ditching MacKenzie, his wife of 26 years and paying her a record $38 billion divorce settlement last June (instantly making her the third-richest woman on the planet), the emperor of online shopping has undergone a complete overhaul.

The balding pate with its wispy strands of hair has been shaved and buffed to a glossy bronze sheen.

Hours with a personal trainer have left him with bulging biceps and a six-pack. Gone is the 'geek uniform' of trainers and baggy chinos, replaced by a slick designer wardrobe and Gucci loafers.

Bezos once admitted: 'I'm not the kind of person women fall in love with. I sort of grow on them, like fungus.'

‘It’s a war crime’: Thousands rally in Tel Aviv against Netanyahu annexation bid

Meretz MK, Joint List leader says move would create ‘apartheid’; Sanders sends video message; police forcefully detain photojournalist covering event, arrest 4 demonstrators

Thousands of Israelis gathered in Tel Aviv Saturday evening to protest Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s pledge to begin annexing parts of the West Bank next month.

Police initially sought to block the rally but backtracked Friday after meeting with organizers, who urged participants to wear masks and adhere to social distancing guidelines.

Dozens of officers were securing the demonstration after police said attendance would be capped at 2,000, though the Haaretz daily put turnout at 6,000 people in what appeared to be the largest protest in the country since the start of the coronavirus pandemic.

The demonstration was organized by the left-wing Meretz party and the communist Hadash faction of the majority-Arab Joint List, along with several other left-wing rights groups.

MK Nitzan Horowitz, the head of Meretz, told the crowd that annexation would be a “war crime” and would cost Israel millions as the economy is already reeling due to the pandemic.

“We cannot replace an occupation of dozens of years with an apartheid that will last forever,” shouted a hoarse Horowitz. “Yes to two states for two peoples, no to violence and bloodshed,” he continued. “No to annexation, yes to peace.”

'It's a Little Conflicting:' Guard Troops Hold the Line on Fellow Citizens in DC

WASHINGTON, D.C. – At the corner of Vermont Avenue and H Street, District of Columbia National Guard soldiers silently stood behind riot shields, blocking protesters' access to Lafayette Square.

The tightly packed crowd was still angry about police driving demonstrators out of the square near the White House on Monday, using flash bang grenades and pepper projectiles.

"It is our duty to fight for our freedom!" demonstrators chanted. "We have nothing to lose but our chains!"

The D.C. Guard members wore body armor and helmets, with riot face shields, but carried no weapons. They had U.S. Army rank patches, but no name tapes.

Some 1,600 members of the D.C. National Guard and thousands of Guard members from other states spent long nights in the District this week, some of them posted near their own neighborhoods as protests over the May 25 death of George Floyd in Minneapolis flooded the streets. Early in the week, protesters broke the windows of businesses and tagged historic monuments with graffiti in angry demonstrations.

But as days passed, the protests assumed a more peaceful rhythm. On Wednesday, video even circulated of demonstrators swaying together and holding up cellphones as they listened to a fellow protester sing "Lean on Me."

Military.com spent Wednesday night in the city, speaking with troops about the uncommon mission – one a senior defense official earlier that day described as the least desired of all in the Guard portfolio.

"We can help enforce the laws, and we do that. We enforce the laws of cities and states underneath the accountable, elected civilian officials where we live, because we work for them," the official told reporters at the Pentagon. "That's how and why we do it, but it's not a good, fun mission. Nobody likes breaking up a fight."

If fighting was minimal Wednesday, the tension was nonetheless palpable between demonstrators and the uniformed troops who stood in rows not far from the White House.

A young black woman held a megaphone inches from Guard members' faces.

"You have no badge numbers; you have no names," she demanded. "Who am I supposed to report if something happens to me? If something happens to me, who am I supposed to report?"

Many protesters simply stood in the 90-degree heat, holding signs painted with "Black Lives Matter" and "Enough is Enough."
