Chicago Mayor Condemns 'Vigilantism' After Men Are Seen Patrolling Streets Carrying Bats

Violence in Chicago during the George Floyd protests hasn’t been as bad as some big cities. Maybe because the reputation of the Chicago police for not-so-tender treatment of suspects precedes them.

In truth, Chicago police are brutal, corrupt, and, dare I say, many are racist. Of course, that’s no excuse to loot a liquor store or trash a high-end department store. But if you want an Exhibit “A” for police brutality, Chicago fills the bill nicely.

There have been incidents of violence, vandalism, looting and fires that have been set in some city neighborhoods. And the Chicago police, already walking on eggshells because of several high-profile murders of unarmed black citizens, can’t be everywhere at once.

So, Americans being Americans, citizens decided to simply protect themselves. There have been reports of people patrolling their neighborhoods with baseball bats to protect their loved ones.

Sound, sensible, and all-American. But this self-defense absolutely horrified Chicago’s woke mayor.

FBI Pledge Allegiance to Black Lives Matter, Antifa, Nation of Islam and New Black Panthers Protesters…

In a display of public unity with ‘The Movement’ writ large, FBI officials took a knee to declare their woke allegiance with the protesting mobs. With that visible display we now have a better understanding of the motives behind a history of FBI failures.

Setting aside the optic that some members of the FBI looking more like ‘meal-team-6’, there was always a suspicion the FBI were more concerned about political correctness than actually doing the work of a federal investigative agency. Historically the FBI has failed miserably to stop domestic terror threats; and when the investigative failures are researched there’s usually a prior connection between the attackers and the FBI.

The father of the Orlando Pulse nightclub terrorist, Omar Mateen, was a guy named Seddique Mateen (you might remember seeing him at the Hillary Clinton rally). After Omar killed 49 people it was discovered that Seddique had been an FBI informant for over eleven years (2005 to 2016).

Similarly, after the Parkland school shooting, it was discovered the FBI was fully aware of Nikolas Cruz, yet again they had taken no action. The exact same scenario had played out several years earlier when the FBI was warned about the Tsarnaev brothers before the Boston Marathon Bombing 2013 and yet they did nothing to stop it.

Muslim Screaming ‘Allahu Akbar’ Stabs NYPD Cop in the Neck: The Leftist/Jihadist Alliance in Action

The riots in New York City have now given us two examples of the Leftist/jihadist alliance: Urooj Rahman, a Muslim lawyer and activist for the Palestinian jihad, threw a Molotov cocktail into a police cruiser, and last Wednesday night in Brooklyn, a Muslim migrant from Bosnia named Dzenan Camovic stabbed a NYPD officer, Yayonfrant Jean Pierre, in the neck while screaming “Allahu akbar.”

Camovic’s attack was duly woke: he attacked the officer while he was guarding Brooklyn businesses against looters, and we all know now that anyone who has the temerity to clean up after the looters, or to get in their way while they are expressing their righteousness, is a racist who must be destroyed.

The manner of Camovic’s attack reveals the other side of the alliance. It is unlikely to have been accidental that he stabbed the police officer in the neck: the Qur’an tells Muslims, “When you meet the unbelievers, strike the necks” (47:4). Striking their victims specifically in the neck is, accordingly, a hallmark of jihadis worldwide.

While jihad attacks by Muslims screaming “Allahu akbar” is an unfortunately recurring feature of contemporary life, particularly in Europe, Camovic chose an especially opportune time to attack a police officer, when amid all the hysterical frenzy over supposed police “racism,” he could be assured of a legion of sympathetic admirers.

Head of shelter for ex-sex slaves found dead

The head of a shelter for South Korean victims of Japan's wartime sex slavery was found dead in her home in an apparent suicide, according to the police Sunday.

According to the police, her body was found in her apartment in Paju, Gyeonggi Province, at 10:35 a.m., Saturday. The police didn't find any traces of intruders and ruled out the possibility of homicide.

The shelter, run by the Korean Council for Justice and Remembrance for the Issue of Military Sexual Slavery by Japan (Korean Council), has been the center of controversy since May, when sex slavery survivor Lee Yong-soo came forward publicly to criticize the Korean Council and the organization's former director Yoon Mee-hyang for misusing funds. Yoon left the post in April after winning a National Assembly seat in a proportional representation vote.

"The late director struggled to accept what was happening to the organization," the Korean Council said in a statement released on Sunday. "Putting her personal life aside, she committed herself to taking care of those survivors' health and well-being. After the prosecution's visit, she pleaded that her life was being completely negated."

Samsung chief faces showdown with prosecution on Monday

Tensions are on the rise over the prosecution's request for an arrest warrant against Samsung Electronics Vice Chairman Lee Jae-yong, over allegations of Lee's involvement in 2015 in a controversial merger of two group affiliates, Samsung C&T and Cheil Industries.

A Seoul court will hold a hearing to decide whether to issue the warrant at 10:30 am today. If the warrant is approved, it will be the first time since 2017 that Lee will be arrested on criminal charges, which Samsung claims will trigger a leadership crisis in the nation's biggest conglomerate.

In a last-minute effort to save the Samsung heir, the group released a statement Sunday rebutting speculative local reports surrounding the case and calling on the court to make an "objective and reasonable" decision to normalize its management.

De Blasio plans to partially DEFUND NYPD, use money for youth and social services

New York will be shifting funds from the police to youth groups as part of reforms, Mayor Bill de Blasio announced, saying the Big Apple’s citizens “need to be reached, not policed.”

“We committed to move resources from the NYPD to youth and social services as part of our City’s budget,” de Blasio wrote on Twitter amid ongoing violent protests in New York and many other US cities, provoked by the death of African American man George Floyd in police custody in Minneapolis, Minnesota in late May.

“Our people need to be reached, not policed,” the mayor said, insisting that it would still be possible to keep New York safe.

This morning we committed to move resources from the NYPD to youth and social services as part of our City’s budget. Our young people need to be reached, not policed. We can do this AND keep our city safe.

— Mayor Bill de Blasio (@NYCMayor) June 7, 2020

In another statement, de Blasio explained that the move is part of “deeper reforms” needed to tackle the “profound disparities” in the city.

He didn’t specify how much funding will be taken from the police and redirected, only saying that the “details will be worked out in the budget process in the weeks ahead.”

Trump brands 'overrated' Colin Powell a warmonger after ex-Secretary of State slams president as dangerous & unconstitutional

President Donald Trump has ridiculed Bush-era Secretary of State Colin Powell, calling him a “real stiff” responsible for the “disastrous Middle East Wars,” after Powell joined a group of military officials in criticizing Trump.

Appearing on CNN on Sunday, Powell accused Trump of drifting “away from” the Constitution, after the president threatened to deploy the US military to quell violent unrest in the US’ major cities. Powell’s criticism echoes the words of a number of former military personnel, including former Defense Secretary Jim Mattis, who compared Trump to Hitler in a diatribe published last week by the Atlantic.

“We have a Constitution and we have to follow that Constitution and the President has drifted away from it,” Former US Secretary of State Colin Powell says he agrees with fellow former generals who have condemned President Trump’s actions against protesters. #CNNSOTUpic.twitter.com/Uni950ct8i

Calling Powell “highly overrated,” Trump took to Twitter to list his accomplishments.

Trump administration orders Marriott to cease Cuba hotel business

HAVANA - The Trump administration has ordered Marriott International to wind down hotel operations in Communist-run Cuba, a company spokeswoman said, extinguishing what had been a symbol of the U.S.-Cuban detente.

Starwood Hotels, now owned by Marriott, four years ago became the first U.S. hotel company to sign a deal with Cuba since the 1959 revolution amid the normalization of relations pursued by former President Barack Obama.

But the administration of President Donald Trump has unraveled that detente, tightening the decades-old U.S. trade embargo on Cuba and saying it wants to pressure the island into democratic reform and to stop supporting Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro.

The approach could help Trump bolster support in the large Cuban-American community in Florida, a state considered vital to his re-election chances in November.

A company spokeswoman said the U.S. Treasury Department had ordered the company to wind down its operation of the Four Points Sheraton in Havana by Aug. 31. It would also not be allowed to open other hotels it had been preparing to run.

A U.S. Treasury Department spokesperson said it could not comment on specific licensing matters, but that the administration aimed to prevent Cuba’s military from using revenue from tourism to “oppress its own people”,

Founded in 1919, Halliburton celebrates its 100 years of service as one of the world's largest providers of products and services to the energy industry. With approximately 50,000 employees, representing 140 nationalities in more than 80 countries, the company helps its customers maximize value throughout the lifecycle of the reservoir — from locating hydrocarbons and managing geological data, to drilling and formation evaluation, well construction and completion, and optimizing production throughout the life of the asset.

Halliburton's fascinating and proud history reveals a continuous focus on innovation and expansion that began with the company's founder, Erle P. Halliburton. After borrowing a wagon, a team of mules and a pump, he built a wooden mixing box and started an oil well cementing business in Duncan, Oklahoma.

In the 1930s, Halliburton established its first research laboratories where the company tested cement mixes, began offering acidizing services to break down the resistance of limestone formations and increase the production of oil and gas, and performed its first offshore cementing job using a barge-mounted cementing unit at a rig in the Creole Field in the Gulf of Mexico. This was the beginning of what was to become the world's most extensive offshore service.

srael Strikes Sensitive Targets In Syria. IEDs Explode Near Turkish-Russian Patrol

Early on June 5, the Israeli Air Force conducted strikes on a Syrian military facility near Masyaf. The strikes were conducted from Lebanese airspace. The Syrian Air Defense Forces intercepted several missiles, however the rest hit their targets. The bombed facility, which is run by the Syrian Scientific Studies and Research Center, is reportedly involved in the development and manufacturing of missiles.

Two improvised explosive devices exploded near a joint Russian-Turkish patrol moving along the M4 highway in southern Idlib on June 4. The explosions happened when the patrol was passing the militant-held town of Arihah. However, they caused no damage to military vehicles or casualties among Turkish or Russian personnel. Despite the incident, the 15th joint patrol became even longer than all the previous ones. It started in the government-held town of Tronba bypassed Arihah and reached the village of Kafer Shalaya.

The slowly but steadily expanding length of Russian-Turkish patrols is a visual confirmation of the implementation of the de-escalation deal reached by Moscow and Ankara. At the same time, the full implementation of the deal still faces serious difficulties due to the presence of terrorist groups in the area. For example, Hayat Tahrir al-Sham militants are still in control of Arihah and recent developments show that they are not planning to sit there idly.

Two of the Ex-Cops Charged in the Killing of George Floyd Were on the Job for Less Than 4 Days: Lawyers

Thomas Lane and J. Alexander Kueng, two of the former Minneapolis police officers recently charged in the death of George Floyd, had been working as cops for less than four days when the deadly incident occurred, according to their attorneys.

While perhaps technically true, previously released records show that Lane and Kueng were hired by the Minneapolis Police Department in February 2019 and became full officers in December of that year. The citations appear to be a reference to their time on the beat.

Lane and Kueng appeared in a Hennepin County courtroom on Thursday–their first appearances in their respective cases. Their defense teams argued the brevity of their time on active-duty as part of an ultimately unsuccessful attempt to have their bail reduced.

NPR Advises Readers to ’Decolonize” Their Bookshelves by Removing White Authors

National Public Radio (NPR) posted a tweet Saturday urging every reader to begin “decolonizing your bookshelf.”

According to NPR, “white voices have dominated what has been considered canon for eons.” The public broadcaster advises fans to begin “decolonizing your bookshelf” by removing the works of white authors.

NPR tweeted:

In essence, "decolonizing your bookshelf" is about actively resisting and casting aside the colonialist ideas of narrative, storytelling, and literature that have pervaded the American psyche for so long, says @itsjuanlove. https://t.co/pbSBx8Z4So

Affirmative Action: The Systemic Racism No One Wants to Talk About

Some Americans are discriminated against because of their race, but it is not who you think.

The clearest definition of “racism” is treating people differently according to their race. Systemic or institutional racism is racism “expressed in the practice of social and political institutions.”

Many American policies and laws are designed to ensure that people of all races, creeds, ethnicities, genders, and sexualities are treated equally, such as the Sixth Amendment, guaranteeing the right to “a fair and speedy public trial by jury,” the Thirteenth Amendment, abolishing slavery, the Fifteenth Amendment, prohibiting the denial of the right to vote based on race, the Nineteenth Amendment prohibiting the denial of the right to vote on the basis of gender.

President Kennedy’s Executive Order 10925, following up similar earlier orders by Presidents Roosevelt and Eisenhower, required government contractors to “take affirmative action to ensure that applicants are employed and that employees are treated during employment without regard to their race, creed, color, or national origin.” It established the President’s Committee on Equal Employment Opportunity (PCEEO). Title IX of the Education Amendments Act forbids unequal treatment based on sex (gender) in federally funded programs.

Inside an MS13 Clique’s Campaign of Terror at the Honduras-El Salvador Border

The entrance to the Honduran border town of Camasca is well-guarded. A column of the army’s special forces stops vehicles along the paved road that winds through the mountains to La Esperanza, the capital of the department of Intibucá.

The soldiers are here for just one reason: the intrusion of the MS13 gang from neighboring El Salvador into Honduras’ borderlands.

This terror arrived in Camasca, a de-facto regional capital, and its surrounding areas toward the end of 2016. As Mara Salvatrucha graffiti began to multiply, houses began to empty.
